The trigger or reference signal in a sweep generator is crucial. Another good sweep option I found for the FY6900 is by using the VCO feature triggered by a RAMP generated by channel 2. Feed the rear VCO input with channel 2 output with a 5 vpp RAMP with aprox 2.5 - 2.6 v offset, and the desired sweep time/freq. select a VCO start and end frequencies. A perfect sweep function with a reference ramp can be used with X-Y oscilloscope mode. An external marker adder can be very helpful if one or two markers wants to be used.
Glad you mentioned the VCO method. It works just as well as the MOD feature. Couldn't find a way to get the SWEEP feature to have a steady display on an O-scope for radio alignments.
Thanks for the tips. In sweep mode you can hook up ch2 of the gen to the ext trigger input of the scope and that will leave you with ch2 of the scope free.
thanks for showing tips of trigger for sweep , having a 6900 for years, unable to sweep with trigger signal, now I can follow in low frequency, but howto do it with sweep with 10.7Mc centered, for FM IF alignment, thanks
should work the same. you set your frequency of ch1 to 10.7mhz and modulation bias to whatever your range should be you wanna sweep trough. ch2 just controls how fast you sweep but at those speeds it becomes less precise.
@@gamerpaddy Yes, finally , I can have proper trigger for the 10.7Mc sweep centered at 5.35Mc, but if the target sweep is centered at 10.7Mc with +_1Mc width? I am using feeltech6900 20Mc unit, super thanks!
Hello, I have a question, what is the TTL-in pin in the port on the back of the function generator for? and investigated but could not find an application, I thought it was related to the function of the EXT-in frequency meter of the generator but they are not even bridged and as much as I investigate the TTL protocol I cannot find anything about that pin. Greetings from Chile.
TTL in? Theres only TTL Out ABCD and RX TX GND 5v for Serial communication A is ch1 frequency Out in TTL (on/off) B is same but 180° out of phase C and D is same for ch2 The bnc (sync) are for Daisy chaining multiple devices to sync clocks. So phases dont drift apart Vco in is for vco function Trig FSK ASK PSK is for modulation function

Interesting..pls more of such videos where you showing usecases and tips.

if you scope has a trigger input, my siglent sds1104x-e doesnt have one, i gotta use one of the channels for that.

Hello, could you please share with me the software for adjusting the wave forms? It is no longer available on the internet...
DDS software for 6900 should work too its version 6.3 the one in the 6800 user guide archive is 6.1
the download for 6900 still works on feeltech

@@gamerpaddy Oh It's ok sorry, emm my signal generator's model is the JDS6600 and the TTL Output distribution is so different. But thanks. :)
Please check time in sweep mode, my FY6900 have issue with time...set 0.1sec...have 0.08sec approximately
Is it possible to calibrate the device with an external 10 MHz GPS signal?
no
Same as FY6900 60Mhz.. also degradates at around 80Mhz.
software v6.5 fw 1.3.. so the so-called 100Mhz Fy6900 gotta be different spec components.
i got 30 MHz on my 15 MHz 6600 model!
Why do you sweep are you looking for a signal
Mostly used for aligning radios, especially the IF stages to visualize the bandpass contour. But any frequency filters are fair game.
