So glad I found you again. I use to watch your clips 12 yrs ago when I got my yorkie puppy. She even learned from watching your vids, where all I had to do is tell her what she was doing... I've shared your vids over the yrs but with your old RUclips address...so now I'm back...Sweet!
I first followed you when I had my Labrador and was struggling with him. I took your advice and used a clicker and the difference was insane. Getting a shepard cross husky today and a clicker is my No1 tool of choice. Best channel on RUclips by a long mile.
Hi I just want to say that when you were showing the tasks that can be learned with a clicker it sure would have been helpful to see how you used the clicker to get the dog to open a refrigerator door, fetch a toy,put his toys in the basket, Etc. I hope in your further episodes you're going to break it down and show us how to use the clicker in these instances. Also I rarely see a clicker trainer on RUclips show what to do when the dog doesn't do the right thing or the asked for behavior. That would be super super helpful. Thank you very much for this video. I was a dog trainer for many years a long time ago where there was no such thing as a clicker and you did not use food to motivate the dog or to reward the dog for doing the asked command. So I have used a clicker and used treats recently with a dog but my personal feeling is I don't like using food to motivate my dog or to reward my dog. Again I look forward to more videos that you will be making in this series.
Thanks! You should check out some of the other videos on this channel. Most of my videos are step by step tutorials with detailed tips on all of these behaviors! :)
Hey, I'm trying to follow your tutorials for my 8wk lab puppy but when I try to have those 10 min training sessions he listens for about 5 minutes and then realizes the treats are in my hand and licks and nips at my hand instead of the treat i placed on the floor from him. Also, when I distract him from chewing the carpet or the floor by giving him a toy he gets bored of it quick and goes back to chewing furniture. Do you have any tips to help me with these?
Simply for the sake of convenience, no. But I use many different markers besides a clicker and may use them if I need to. Carrying reinforcement with you is far more important than a clicker.
Love your videos but Help Please... my dog chose to 'leave it' a piece of broken glass on the floor and as I clicked when her nose came up/away a wasp was right in front of her and she was in hot pursuit and I went 'click'. Oh no! any tips on what to do when you realise that you've potentially rewarded a bad thing that happens immediately after a good thing? Thanks
Hey do you have website or some way to contact...i have severe brain injury.. That make training hard and successful I have 10 week gsp...and been making mistakes...can we fix the unseen consequences...thanks if you can help me
Hi! How do you deal with the clicker in multi-dog scenarios? I clicker train in classes I teach to show others the basics but not at home because I have four dogs (and often more, in normal times, since I board) and I think it would be confusing to them -- i.e. how would they know whom the click was intended for? I've assumed it can only be used effectively in single-dog scenarios. Am I wrong?
There is potential for confusion if one trainer is working with multiple dogs simultaneously whether you use a clicker or not. I would have the other dogs settle and wait their turn while you work with a single dog using the clicker. Everybody can get a turn and learn when they are working and when they are not. Just don’t use a clicker to reinforce the dogs that are settling.
@@TrainingPositive Got it, thanks! I could introduce them to the clicker separately and then as a group, but they have to know only one of them has a special working status with me when the clicker is active. In other words, when the clicker comes out the dogs must understand that I am working strictly 1:1 and they'll learn to wait their turn to be one of those 1s.
For a non professional you're probably the best on RUclips. You've had GSD and a lab, time to go to the harder dogs. Saluki or Borzoi shows real training ability so does recalling a greyhound off a rabbit. I think you're ready for the challenge
@@christopheclugston You got paid 50 dollars to be a walking chew toy for a dog and now you think you're a dog expert. Also yes, i'm not going to give my real name and picture to google DERP.

so good to have you back
so happy you are back!!
You're back! Your earlier vids helped me have an obedient and well trained French Mastiff dog. I'm glad you're back on and thanks again!
So glad you’re back! I’m struggling with my high energy German Shepherd pup!
Hi!!!! OhMyGosh! I'M SO Pleased you are back. Your videos are incredible and done in such a unique way. Keep up the good work!
My Daughter loves you have color sorted your books 😉
omg.. *RESPECT* for making videos for so long.
clickers are great. I used one when I first started training my dog when he was a pup. It worked well for both of us.
You're back!! Please bring new consistent content. I taught my dog watching your videos.
Great to see you back! I love your videos. Hope you get lots of views.
Great to see you back! Pavlov and Skinner would be proud!
I can see my puppy's face light up when he hears the click. It makes communication so clear and as a result he is learning FAST!

Yeh your back I’ve missed your vids!!! 🙏😁
Thank you again!

Do you have a tutorial on closing the door?
I want to follow all of his training videos but I can't find a list of them or any way to find all the episodes. Help!
Any tips on how to work with a young dog with hyerarousal?

Hey! I was wondering about outside of training: Do you always use/carry a clicker??
Simply for the sake of convenience, no. But I use many different markers besides a clicker and may use them if I need to. Carrying reinforcement with you is far more important than a clicker.
@@TrainingPositive Right! thanks!
Can you make a video about stopping puppy biting?

My Saint baby is 5 months old but I don't have a clicker yet, is it too late to get one now?? KEIKO is a quick learner though. Please help!
Not at all! It’s never too late. Never 😀

Absolutely love your videos, absolutely *hate* the music, especially the volume level.
The volume is way too loud for the transitions for sure.
I'm struggling with my labrador puppy.. She always bite.
Tell her to stop biting. Or buy a clicker and reward her for not biting, that'll learn her.
I love, love, your videos….I share them with so many dog loving friends. Please skip the background music. It’s so unnecessary. Thanks
Can u teach play dead
