Hello, you didnt cover how to make the warslides or text
I know how to to do both but im curious on how to do warslides, especially in paint because it has no layers
and the text im also curious since it always stay in place and to make it do that takes a while for me
by text i mean the date
yo tigerstar could you make a remake of WW1 or even a video for the interwar dumpster fire in eastern europe?
I also enjoy using filmora it's not just simple but easy to understand!
Hey I want to do this on my phone is there any apps I can download
The tutorial we all didn’t deserve, but needed
Lol
I think it's the otver way around
Nah it’s the tutorial that is neither deserve nor needed.
@@youtubecommenter4992me who actually needed it 💀
Figured I’d finally make a video like this! The video on Papua New Guinea I made as an example in this video will be tomorrow’s video. Enjoy!
Papua New Guinea is PNG
Hope West Papua gets a mention.
At 9:01 I saw southern PNG marked as formerly a British territory. Well, it wasn't really. Before 1901 it was a colony of Queensland, which had full "Responsible Government" (including its own military) before Australian federation in 1901. After that it was Australian until PNG got independence in 1975. While Queensland (and later Australia) were then part of the British Empire, the Brits had no control of places like Canada and Australia after the individual provinces or colonies were granted Responsible Government, which was in 1860 for Queensland.
Does procreate work well for this?
The only upgrade I could see using is the terrain overlay. Mountains and valleys are very important, especially in military movements, so seeing troops move around a mountain makes more sense than "why did they go northeast then south instead of going straight toward the capital?"
Learning that he makes his videos in such a scuffed way honestly makes me appreciate them so much more lol
I always wondered how you get the very accurate borders using paint, because paint doesn't use layers
You can use the square tool, all white, and select the marker tipe. After 3 squares on top of one another, anything under them will no longer be seen. So put a map, 1 or 2 squares on top, make a black lineart, more 1 or 2 squares on top, and the lineart will be under 2 squares while the map will be under 3. The lineart will still be seen and the map not. Now you can just paint the now gray lineart with black and there you have it.
I’m my experience it’s more consistently 4 layers
@@TheLegend2T oh yes i forgot to say that i put the map, put one layer, then make the lineart and add 3 layers, sorry
Are you Polish?

I REALLY NEEDED SOMEONE DOING THE TUTORIAL OF THE RESEARCHING, THANK YOU
Buy books or just borrow them
Damn we all here
@@goatmapper I can't
I think OSP Red has a video on researching, but that was a couple years ago
check your local library for old maps/atlases
your ability to accurately research front lines never ceases to amaze me, even after all these years.
Ayyy, all of my videos were also done with Paint. It's crazy how far you can get without using anything fancy.
All you gotta do is teach people how to lose hope :P
I LOVE HR CHANNEL
ok
I relate a lot to this - I've always prefered Paint to more advanced programs, and I'm 40 and never moved from paper to tablets - I draw by hand on paper with pencils or pens - and it's often difficult to even admit, because many people will literally take offense, like I'm bragging about art-conservatism or something - but I just could never really adapt to the more advanced programs or equipment I could never afford.
I like the processes I've gotten used to - and that's how I prefer to work.
Having made video´s like yours as well and now seeing you have the exact same strategy and reasons to use simple programs is so nice to see.
ayo when Alternate History of Europe: Battle of the Bulge part 2?
Seeing that folder filled with very *single* frame of a map video, made me realized how much effort you actually put
into these videos.
Personally, i'd do whatever i can to make my work process convenient & easy at the cost of time (sometimes).
But to do something like this is very impressive.
I very much respect you dedication to these videos, honest!
I was literally just thinking about this and happened to see this lol.
Also keep up the content Tigerstar, your videos are really fun and informative!
really nice to see the behind the scenes of how u make videos tigerstar. very cool
I had no clue how you managed to create these great maps in MS Paint, and now I know you use a TRACKPAD I am even more impressed! Your process is also incredibly meticulous; all those layers and images!
I also really appreciate your explanation of your research process.
Thank you for all your work!
yes, I am very much a visual learner. Simple and informative is what I personally am looking for. I can only imagine how much work it takes just for that small amount of time it is for us. ty man
This was very useful video bro. Keep it up.
Thanks for informing us of this.
The thing I love about them is that they genuinely sound thankful when saying they appreciate support on their videos
Not a lot of RUclipsrs sound genuine doing that
Love your videos❤️😁
Thanks for making this Tiger, I hope to make my own mapping videos one day! ^^
You should do a video where you try to draw countries on paint from memory, given how many times you’ve probably traced them
The info we needed~
This is exactly how I make my own personal map videos lmao
I thought I was doing it a really strange, basic, and hugely simplistic way.
very specific and detailed
Thank you i was curious how to make it
Thank god you showed what film making program you use. I’ve been stonewalled by my own laziness ever since movie maker got removed
It''s very interesting comparing another mapmaker's process with mine.
2023 has really been a blessing :D Mapsinanutshell, eastory and now EmperorTiger!!!
Thanks for info
Bro uploaded the exact video I needed
Cool. Since I have also been into this very same stuff my entire life, 🙂it sure is interesting to see such a vid from a fellow Maps and History fan, like myself.
In fact, you're inspiring me to start uploading my stuff, too. 🙂
The background music in this video is magnificent.
8:34 In VEGAS Pro, I'm able to get around this issue (at least when adding media to the timeline) by temporarily setting "New still image length (seconds)" to the value I think would be most appropriate. Of course, that's really only convenient when you're dragging in your image files all at once, and I haven't yet found a convenient way to adjust the length of all of those events simultaneously after they've already been added.
Pretty neat 👍🏼; as someone who posts just for fun it’s pretty interesting to see how real creators do their work.
Krita can also be used for animating maps, sure it's quite complicated but it's really good at its job with layers, frames and much more
Thank you for Tutorial
Reminds me of the maps we used to make for NationStates back in the day; what a time!
Very repeating drawings process to make a video possible, I respect that.
FINALLY A TUTORIAL
I REALLY WANT THIS !!
Finally, quite nice.
Let's goooo finally
I love the maps
I liked the video and I hope you make 1 more explaining more indepth how to draw a more accurate border which i find annoyingly hard. Thank you alot :)
THANKS
yes
The fact that you use ms paint is amazing
i love this also ur videos
at least you didn't end up like Blue where he bought a whole program just to add hills
Basically he's a level 100 wizard with level 1 gear
OMG TY FOR TUTORIAL
Also I know this is cheesy but Second
wow!
SALAMAT PO
Finally, someone else who doesn't like anti-aliasing and publicly shows it
Hello fellow map maker. I make my own maps for my own videos, mostly Europe. but I also make other maps for fun. my map making prosses is a bit different but the same non the less.
Ok, what I love best about Tigerstar is that he uses MS Paint. No fancy Photoshop for him. Hehehe...
7:10 still better than most of the Historical video animators on RUclips.
Extra Credit and Blue from OSP seems they don't have Historical atlases and maps...
Wow 😮
Well now I know what imma do today at least
Emperor spilling the Krabby patty formula
AWOOG
In your war videos, how do you know the exact positions and mapping of occupation/control of armies
How would you research territorial changes
Tigerstar, we thank you for this video of Imperial Greatness.
I make all my maps in paint and it's a pain, especially with the small scale I use. I want to ask, how big is the brushyou use in your maps? For borders and such?
whoever made this song, had a love for windows 95 theme.
Forged Pacific ftw 🙌
FIIIINAALLLYYYYY !!!!
Imo the biggest challenge of mapping doesn't feel like the process but the time commitment, I could never do that
I'm curious what takes longer, making the maps or the research...
Anyone know how to use QGIS?
I would love to know how you get historical borders so perfect? Like a war or smthing. Thank you
Спасибо
How do you copy the maps that well
Interesting.
Yours, the ones of Knights and Generals and the ones of Sam Aronow, are some of the best historical-political maps I've found on RUclips so far. My most sincere compliments for your great work and effort.
A LAPTOP TRACKPAD!?!?!?!?!? ARE YOU INSANE!?!?!??!?!
I have a problem with Google Maps. When i try to look into a region of a country i have to go the border of that region very close and it shows name like this
[Region]
-------------
[Region]
Instead of just just displayed in the middle but zoomed out
I wish I could learn all the stuff from you, but I don't how
we need to get EmperorTigerstar a lot more subscribers so they can make enough money to get a super cool computer
Is that music the windows 2000 startup sound?
Is there going to be any update on the history of North America: Every year video?
finally
6:00 God tracing borders accurately with a graphic tablet seems hard enough, doing it with a track pad is just hellish punishment to me
cooooool
Is there a fast way to trace maps with aliased borders?
Yay
How did you add the labels on the side?
I was waiting for PowerPoint to make an appearance
its beautifully inefficient, nice
Eleven months late but FOR GODS SAKE FINALLY.
History of North Amercia has been in the makings since my freshmen or sophomore year of highschool 😅
New video!
Your video’s are so amazing that now I have to buy a globe! 🌍
I wanna learn to animate :3
Hey just wondering how could you make the date transition so smoothly, it's some kind of editing or what?, Ive been watching your videos for a long time ago, and am planning on doing somekind of these. Could you give me more details about it?
I don't do anything special. I just make one slide for every date.
Right... I did the same thing by erasing the date and replace it with the next date for the other slide, but turns out the proportions of the text seems to not match with its previous date. And yeah the date is uneditable, since paint doesn't allow people to fix or change the written texts.
The way you said QGIS made me die a little inside
i also agree that anti-aliasing just kinda sucks to execute properly
Never heard someone pronounce GIS like that 5:31
I hear it all the time.
