I think it would be more secure/less awkward/nicer looking if the center of the phone were on the top of my wrist and the sides folded around. Also I can see how this is pre-production. @1:16 I believe the screen pops out of the bezel!
Can't help but think that wearing your phone on your wrist is going to cover the screen in scratches almost immediately. Neat concept, but it should probably stay just that tbh.
My razr display that is less than 6 months old already has dad pixels. I can't even imagine having something like this on my wrist. Completely impractical
Crazy how I bought 3 (1 for myself, 2 as gifts), and none of them have dead pixels. The hinge on my is deformed because I've dropped it 4 times but the screen is just fine. Crazy, isn't it?
This is an excellent design, but don't think it needs to be 'worn'. It's way better version of a flip phone. A built in Phone stand is all I need !! As for the hand, I can balance my existing phone on my wrist, no problem.
It looks wonky af right now. However, sure flexible display is not new anymore, but if you think about it, they were able to also made the battery and components inside follow that form factor.
thats rollable consept is really useful for Selfie stuff anf record yourself on the table without the tripod, just bend your phone and put it on the table, switch to front camera and you can make video review or even a vlog with it🤣🤣
I think Apple is behind on times. They just released the same product Facebook released years ago. They are still yet to release a folding phone and or a screen that wraps... both things that have been in production years with others.
I'd call this a bendable phone.. Rollable phones are a completely different category of phones that extend the screen by having it roll outward. EDIT: you even show that rollable from Motorola in this video 😅
Things don't work when you can't take the proud within your self. You must give yourself a sense of proud.💪😊 My concern to contribute to ideas of scholars, the industry of phone companies to build on the idea of phone camera potions both back and front cameras. A slide glass close and opening to protect the camera when the device is laying on a floor or on the ground flat when not in use by the interfacer.
I like the creativity. Phones have become boring blocks. I have a samsung zflip and it's so so fun to use but started having screen issues after a year and now looking for a new one coming up to 2 yrs. I like what motorolla is setting it's sights on but the phone still looks a little awkward
Its completely unnecessary when we already have smart watches that can call, message, and everything, plus they fit neatly in your wrist and don't look derpy. Cool concept in theory but aweful in execution if you think of putting it on your wrists. Giving it an actual frontal camera and just making it a bettyer version of a flip phone would be better than a wannabe watch. Everything you would do with that phone on your wrist. A smart watch can do it, and it's more ergonomic.
i wonder who actually likes that and would buy it, not me but i don't mind it existing, it's better than nothing and perhabs there's people out there who like it; good for them
Hats off to Motorola for coming up with great designs, now Samsung will copy this and market it better and everyone will say wow Samsung hail Samsung... iPhone, LoL just forget it, their creativity is over way long
Despite all the sci-fi vibe, I don't think people would ever want to 'wear' screens. Personal displays/screens, by their very nature, are terminals of information for "yourself", not for the whole world. This is what manufacturers get wrong all the time. It's a private thing. No one wants these. Give us smartphones with smaller screens i.e. 5.8", not 7.5". 🙄🙄
Moto does make some really cool things we can't deny that
but it leads to nothing lmao so its competitors keep dominating market share. the days of motorola has long gone, im afraid.
'we're having an issue with phones bending' 'well let's lean into it'
This makes me miss LG. LG had market leading innovation that stuck, like multiple camera lenses.
They do but this isn't one of them.
You mean Lenovo
its cool. If it wrapped completely around the wrist and locked securely like a regular wrist watch i would want it.
Okay for gen 1 device but wont be adopted until it clasps fully aroind and is thinner. Like a futuristic slap bracelet.
It's not even April 1st yet.
😂🤣
😅
😂 i was just thinking is this a joke, when I read your comment 😅
First of all, it's real so be quiet
On the wrist, it looks derpy
The device should be thinner to be more bracelet like. Also, should have some type of lock to avoid dropping or stealing.
I think it has a wrist band ?
@@AndroidFerretlooks like
Don't worry, it will break from getting banged on something before anyone has a chance to steal it.
@@AndroidFerret magnet wristband, doesn't lock.
It's impossible for someone to steal something that you're wearing.
What you're talking about is called robbing.
❤Love the idea! I hope they start making available for purchase

0:41 seems so
The screen is on top of curve that's y it actually works like this
That'a Nokia 888
Can't help but think that wearing your phone on your wrist is going to cover the screen in scratches almost immediately. Neat concept, but it should probably stay just that tbh.
Thats where a screenprotector comes in. Or 2, or 3
0:41 oof, that thing is warped, when unfolded. look at the profile, pause if you have to. They've got a long way to go to make this utility viable.
Are green lines included in the box apart from the charger?
This is a start of something beautiful coming in future, I can see full body suit with LED display coming up really soon, it'll help so much.
100% need one of them, l think it's the best thing lv ever seen. LOVE THIS.
A phone that wraps around your wrist is FUTURE awesome! It will go viral!!!!!!!!
Can’t wait to see how SNL spoofs this one! 😂
This is What I'm Waiting for!!! Rollable Screen Tech. I still Wait for Tablet Rollable Screen in the Future!!! Yay ✌🏻😃✌🏻
I feel confident in saying that that's the dumbest thing I have seen this year so far.
We cannot waste a single second without a screentime don't we?
It practically a body part. We all evolve into cyborg
*Critical of too much screen time whilst watching a video and typing in the comment section about too much screen time.
@@agentcooki yes sir

How do they fit in the battery? As the battery can't be bend it is in a solid form.
Lithium batteries haven't been giant singular masses ever. They've always been variously sized groupings chained up together.

Motorola Parent company Lenevo showed this years ago. Why are they showing this again?
Can't wait ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

That's pretty amazing. I wanted this since decades.. I wrapped a PDA around my wrist once. It broke
MOTOROLA WITH THE COME BACK😂😂
This is really cool. I love concept devices.
Hello moto
A concept from multiple CES’s ago…
Yup, from LG I believe...
I would love it if they would bring back the moto z line with all of the attachments.
the gear fit was going in the right direction
It needs a bracelet, I love it. I would love to have one
So basically Nokia Morph after 15 years of waiting
Me: Ok, I'm putting my phone on the desk and going to the restroom.
Foldable Phone: Say that again.🤜
When is someone going to create a phone like the phones on the TV show 'Earth Final Conflict '? Now that was cool and useful!
Devastating scratch waiting to happen if you wear it on the wrists, lol. 😅
So many No's on this phone.
This is the first foldable phone that I want. 🎉
My thoughts..... Still thinking!!!!
I saw it in a movie with Julie Delpy and had to check it out
Oh no. Not this guy. I thought he left CNET
Yeah we can hope it never sees the light of day
Reminds me of the Nokia Morph concept, which is ~15 years old.
This is a foldable I would pay money for. Reminds me of the Nokia Morph.
Seriously? When was the last time anyone saw such a big watch on their wrists? Looks like a phone cover wrapped around the wrist.

I'm waiting for the version shown in the series Upload
no ones wearing that 😂
I literally scrolled down just 1 comment under yours and someone said they would totally wear it 😆 man it’s such an ugly phone / watch
I'm gonna wear it, we're definitely in the future tbh
I would .
I woiuld def wear it
It's a good start. I am sure it will be tweaked more.
That’s the reason Motorola has died 😂
Wrist tumours
😅
Why?
I think Apple is behind on times. They just released the same product Facebook released years ago. They are still yet to release a folding phone and or a screen that wraps... both things that have been in production years with others.
1:16 OMG!
All I thought about, was the poor lad working at the "Lost & Found" area of a rave. 🤣🤣
Glass don’t fold
Why replace a smart watch with something so bulky LoL 😂
Bulky and heavy is better first of all
This is actually the closest to apple's bendable iPhone patent
Why speculate when you can sell what is certain? Choose what you know will work, and then decide what else you can offer.
"The future I wanted is finally here" 😎 >> "Concept phone. It's not being made". 😭 WTH CNET!
I'd call this a bendable phone..

I really wish they would bring back the Motorola mods I thought that was a good idea

I like it, never puting yoir phone down if you need to do something.
I need this i want this.
I remember when Nokia launched this concept 20 years ago. Still a lot to work on.
We're getting closer to the Nokia Morph concept lol.
I remember seeing the prototype over ten years ago
Can’t see this one taking off, so chunky! But thought I would post comment and check back in 5 years lol….😂
0:41 looks like the display bulges out the... fabric frame
I don't think it's safe enough to wear
It will fall off and get damaged
A bit unappealing but nonetheless what an incredible step up for innovated tech
My wrist is sweating looking at this
Look you accidentally scratched your watch on the wall.. Hmph it's not a watch.. It's my $2000 smartphone WITHOUT tempered glass😂
Just like a smart watch, just the size of big Ben 😂😂😂
I would totally wear this!
It's called a watch Motorola, your like Internet explorer of phones
My main question besides the gimmick of flexibility is the chip set, refresh rate and battery life. Not too worried about the camera personally.
I like the creativity. Phones have become boring blocks. I have a samsung zflip and it's so so fun to use but started having screen issues after a year and now looking for a new one coming up to 2 yrs. I like what motorolla is setting it's sights on but the phone still looks a little awkward
Oh no, I gently bumped into a wall. I guess I'm out a couple thousand dollars.
I wonder, cool tech or an expensive device you replace often.

Very cool tech. But honestly I don’t think this will actually go to consumer market.
the iphone 6 plus did this years ago
I'd rather be caught walking around the city with a Motorola DynaTAC 8000x than that foldable phone.
It may be better to have a big screen smart watch with a flex screen than to have a flex screen in a smart phone!!!
my soul leaves my body everytime I watch this
Let's see the faults after release
The video literally said it’s not going to release and it’s just a concept
