This is magical. I've been following you since we performed together way back in April of 2011 at one of Beth Morrison's Liederabends. Your bold, intelligent, and emotional art-making is an inspiration to me (and so many others, I'm sure). I discovered Gabriel on the same evening. A double treasure. I'm still looking for an opportunity to perform Mirror Songs. I'll keep you posted. Thank you again!
Hi Timo, first time listening to you and love your composition as well as the performance. I found your music by chance thanks to a math-loving person :D . I think I have the same piano btw, is that a Leningrad brand piano??
Incredibly beautiful composition and performance! I hope it doesn't take away from the music to ask: did you also film this yourself? Because the footage *looks* incredible.
Many moments of beauty revealed, and the feeling as a listener of discovering them along with you. I have been listening to Keith Jarrett's 1975 Koln Concert; the first movement is improvised based on a simple 4 note motif. Honest Labor springs to life as we listen, and I wonder; what is the role of improvisation in your composition process? Does a completed work ever become the framework for extended improvisation? Thank you so much for sharing your work. It bears repeated listening because each voice is given care, love and time.
Thanks for listening, Tony. I’m not much of an improviser, no. But most of my music works by gradually developing a very simple idea, similar to some forms of improvisation.
You're an amazing player, composer, and musical mind. Thank you for inspiring.
i feel honored to have watched the journey from serif timo to sans serif timo
ultimately? its own reward
Your music always touches a place that is somewhere deep within the listener.
Transformative!
