RULES:
The object of the game is to guess the hidden word in 6 guesses or less. Type in a word and press enter. All guesses must be real English words. After each guess each correct letter turns green and each correct letter in the wrong place turns yellow. Incorrect letters turn gray. Letters can be used more than once. Use these clues to help you guess the word. If you guess the correct word in 6 tries or less then you win. This game can only be played once per day. Additional rules for hard mode: Every correct letter must be used in that spot for all future guesses. Every correct letter in the wrong spot must be used somewhere in every future guess, including the same incorrect spot as used previously.
isn't this the way you are supposed to play? (I played Wordle like that at least)
@@paulyeung2544 It looks intuitive to play that way, but you can actually obtain more information by specifically using more letters you haven't tried before. Doing that makes it more likely that you'll win, but might force you to use more turns to do so.
@@tyzonemusic And if you want to use that strategy for hard mode it’s actually best to rule out uncommon letters early so you don’t restrict your options too soon. My current opening word is “jumpy” for this reason. Being able to confidently say there’s no J, U, or Y without having to twist them around an awkwardly locked S or E is really helpful in my experience.
@@danielleanderson6371 not really the first thing is the find the vowels and find out if common letters like r and s are in it a good example is roads then you can go onto Kombu which is what people use to make dashi a kind of broth thingy for ramen
@@MrrBreast Not at all for hard mode. Time and time again I’d get stuck with letters in weird places and be completely incapable of figuring out how another word could possibly have that letter in that place and be left wondering about which of the 21 other letters could be in the word with no way to test them out. The idea with the hard mode strategy is to test as many letters as you can before something locks in, thereby forcing you to work around it. As such, you want to use uncommon letters first. I like “jumpy” because if U isn’t a match it’s likely Q is ruled out, too, and testing Y early on similarly feels like eliminating two letters since it can be used in two vastly different ways. My follow up is usually “gnarl,” which has a bunch of consonants that are middling in terms of how commonly they’re used in five-letter words.
I think you missed the part where I play hard mode. For easy I always go “steam,” “prion,” “gulch” and nearly always have the answer in time for the fourth guess, which is what many consider to be par. It was too easy, so I switched to hard mode.

kinda coincidental because I was playing wordle when I got a notif for this video. it's some sort of cosmic comedy because I was struggling at wordle and got a notif on "how to play wordle".

Foray is a journey.
One more very important rule! If a word uses a letter multiple times, it will show up in yellow or green that many times.

What is the purpose of the letters in the clue word, besides the one that is correct in the correct place? Can you use any letters, or do you have to use those? I’m looking at a NYT Wordle.
You can use any words you like. I don't know what you mean by a clue word.

The video says to enter a word and that's where I'm not sure. What word? Is there a clue giving you a topic or do you just use any word out of the hundreds of thousands of words that exist?

We had to code this game for programming finals, and we all failed. The teachers gave a little help because the letters couldnt be repeated, but it wasnt good enough.

It's just like the TV game show Lingo and the games that it was based on; in Lingo, however, they tell you the first letter. They don't here.

Lmfao I had 200+ win streak before, and I tried four-letter word round (like I do sometimes to balance my gameplay) just to lose my streak. Up to this day, I still don't visit the game

I just played this for the first time. I used your recommendation and I literally got the word on the second try. How often does that happen, I wonder. My skeptical mind says, maybe often. I'm not at all familiar with this game. But, it tried to sell me something as soon as I won, so , now I'm wondering if it's rigged. 😂
@@tygerseye3 Well nice job! Let me tell you something:
The word "audio" has a lot of different vowels and I recommend that because you can narrow everything down and get the word in maybe 2-3 tries or so. The comment that you replied to here was about being helpful to other people.
