Ok so I'm gonna keep it real cuz I'm a HUGE lamb...Christina did AMAZING!!She brought the vocals,the runs and the original spirit of the song...Now the dude has a great voice but it doesn't suit the song in my opinion...Brian brought some earthiness to the song and I feel that was his best contributing factor and dude almost sounded like he was tryna sing Mariah's part...I don't know if his voice is just naturally high like that but he was a wrong fit/choice for this particular song💯
Leandre Williams I must disagree, his voice complemented the song very well. It's good that he's not a "Brian McKnight wannabe" and actually a unique vocalist. He has a pure tone with some Broadway stylings. Plus it blended well with Christina's phenomenal voice. An incredible cover from both 😍
I must disagree with your point babe...It is good that he isn't a Brian McKnight wanna be cuz you want to bring your own flair to a cover while still respecting the original artist and their method of showing their musicality...What I was referring to was the "earthiness" vibe to flow well and smoothly with Mariah's high angelic voice...The contrast is striking and I don't really feel like there was a contrast here...Does that make sense?
i must agree. while the guy's voice is great. the harmonies didn't ring home with me at all. It's like they were singing two different songs. When the song first started my initial thought was 'why is Michael singing Mariah's part.' i did LOVE Christina's part though, she kept all the runs and inflections, yet made it her own. The parts that their voices were solo Michael was decent.
