I replaced a blower motor last year a few months after the heat wouldnt work but it would still blow but it was summer so I wasnt worried about it but now it doesnt turn on at all since I just replaced the blower motor last year should I try replacing the resistor first?
2011 Chevy Traverse can you do a video on the amplifier location in that truck I'm seeing three different videos but I don't see the amplifier and also there's a fuse box under the glove box on the passenger side which one is the amplifier fuse the radio play in the tweeters but it don't play in the doors the amplifier I was told to check amplifier in a fuse but where is all that located I cannot find it
I have a 2007 ford expedition I have had everything replaced for the ac..the condenser, the lines , blend doors, the actuator , compressor , ECT..all relays and fuses are working. The system is charged no leaks detected Ac works fine for months then goes back to hot air then works again for a while then stops this is a dual ac system makes no sense what could cause it to work fine then stop .. what could the issues be?????
As a single mom on a budget, I really appreciate 1A Auto. Y’all have no idea! Fixed my AC, 3 different fuses, and my brakes. I feel so dam accomplished!
The production, presentation, and walk through in detail was all I needed. So grateful for you. Two years with no air conditioning. Watched your video replaced blower motor and blower motor resistor. Turned on ac and was blasted with two years of dust lol. Subscribed Thank you! 🙏
I have seen so many unhelpful videos on this topic (well-meaning but horrible quality), but this one was comprehensive and explained everything very well for a non-mechanic to understand.
Excellent video. Did the basic test light check at the motor harness, power was there. So as suggested, i ordered both blower and resister 6 days ago. They came in the mail today. Took about 20 minites to swap out my 08 tahoe and now the air blows freely again....just before the ice and snow that is coming tomorrow! Thank you!
This turned the little light bulb on! My resistor blew out, with my original blower motor(really old). I replaced the resistor, it worked fine for a few days. Suddenly the blower didn’t work either. Put in new blower motor, still didn’t work. But now I think I blew out the new resistor on the old blower motor. So now i’m hoping that with my new blower motor, that a new resistor should not longer be “cooking” from the old blower motor! As the video sats, replacing both would be best. Thanks for the great video!
Check your cabin filter aswell! The low pressure created by the blower motor from a clogged cabin filter can put excess strain on the blower, resistor and circuit.
Great video. Love these walk-throughs. Just wanna point out that if a persons suspects a bad resistor pack out of the gate, testing for resistance on all of the resistor points should allow you to make that determination instead of using deduction to come to a reasonable conclusion about what is wrong.
Thanks for this! Helped me to understand the system and check everything. My fan was making noise for a day, then it stopped turning which caused the resistor to smoke. I watched the video, pulled the motor and found it was binding. Replaced it. Pulled the resistor, and smelled it! Yes, it smelled like burnt plastic, which was same smell when the system smoked. Replaced resistor, checked all fuses. Replaced both for less than 100$. Thanks for the video! 🙏🏼
Thank you a million times. My fan blower motor went out in the middle of the winter. I've been having several problems with my car and didn't want to sink too much more money into it. Thanks to your video and a few others I was able to change it myself and was only out the cost of the part. You saved me hundreds of dollars vs. bringing it into a shop. 😊
I got a test light from O'Reilly and it couldn't reach the positive side of the terminal. I didn't have my tools on me either. While I plugged the blower motor back in it started to work again. These helped me narrow it down, I think it's a loose wire in the connector. Thank you
Thank you for the short and easy to follow video. Just swapped my blower motor out in my 08 crv took me no less than 5 minutes! Like someone else said I used a T20 bit and it worked just fine.
Most explanatory video I have ever seen very good video this isn't even the year model in looking for but just your explanation is very descriptive and explained the functions of both the parts for me as well thanks for the video helped me out tremendously ..

resistors contribute to alot. fun fact, if your car is having the issue of heating or cooling only one side of the car (left vs right) many times its a faulty resistor. after trying to recharge the a/c system and checking blendoors, the resistor turns out to be the culprit more than not.
Very informative video not like the other videos that just tell you about one thing and don't explain everything else you have really helped us all save money you guys are the best.
Very helpful video. My fan wasn’t working, I was getting volts before and after Resistor/Relay thinking fan was toast. Took the fan out hooked it up to my battery and it worked. Glad i didn’t buy a new fan. I was a lil confused why everything worked but Put everything back together. Maybe loose connections or there was a few dozen pine needles in the fan. Ty
Great video and trouble shooting steps. Allowed me to figure out my problem with my blower motor problem. However, going through these trouble shooting steps brought me to the only issue NOT mentioned in this great video, the BLOWER MOTOR RELAY! Can't believe there was no mention of that possible issue. But since the fuses were good but had no power at the blower motor resistor, next possible issue is the relay. But keep up the great videos!
At minute 3.18, he verified the power, coming from the relay, so it is not necessary to check the relay, if there was no power, yes, he would have to first verify the continuity of the line and the efficiency of the relay, in my opinion the youtuber did the right job.
Love your videos very helpful, only thing I would add is clean connections sometimes you get lucky! Like I did, on mine was the blower motor connections were to dirty wouldnt let it get power
I have a question about the resistor…I get a natural gas or rotten egg smell every few minutes or so when my blower is running. Is that the resistor ? I just replaced my blower and everything works. I just can’t get rid of the smell. I changed the cabin air filter like 3 times. Thanks in advance!! You’re doing a great service for a lot of people.

Blower was working on high only and would sometimes turn off after hitting a bump. Changed the resister, now blower works on all speeds but next highest(#4 of 5). Car has a low and high blower fuse but no 4/5 power fuse. 2001 Buick Century Limited.
I have a 2017 Ram 2500. All relays and fuses are good do have 12 volts at blower when running a test line to battery. I have changed the blower motor, the resistor and the climate control unit as well. Still no blower. Can hear the blend door actuators moving to adjust the hot and cold and direction. And all the lights turn on and engage AC. Still now blower. I'm ready to just run a hot wire with a toggle switch to the battery atp just to make it work.
The blower on my impala got so it would stop running . sometimes after 20 or 30 minutes but sometimes after a few seconds. Bought a resistor to replace it but discovered that wiggling the plug on the resistor made the blower start or stop. Shot some contact cleaner in the plug and the prongs on the resistor. He did, he tested the writing harness that goes to it, and the resistor input/output, if power is going either way, you know which part is faulty. Process of elimination, my man
Mine was the blower motor from shorting out due to water in the AC box. My AC condenser line was clogged so water filled inside and you could hear water sloshing when turning left, slight dampness on passenger side floorboard under glove box. I blew out line and replaced blower motor and all good for now. I suspect it will clog again.
Got mine to work just by taking it out and spinning by hand. It was tight to spin so brushes are probably going out. won't last long but it will be good enough till I pick up a blower motor.

Can the bad motor resistor make your AC fan cables get hot? If not what causes this to happen? Thank you for your time.
best video i seen on this thanks.
Life saver. Thank you sir
