Honestly I think walks like these are a better representation of a given city or country as opposed to world famous landmarks or tourist destinations. I can really see where the people walk and hang out and work at every day. It looks empty but that means people are trying to be a little more cautious. Mahalo for taking us along!
You made me very happy with this video, Thomas. Many years ago I came from the US to stay with my Oom and Tante in Aerdenhout for a year before University. Every couple of weeks I would take the train to A'dam and tram to the Minerva Plein and walk down to the end of Rubensstraat to visit my Opa. We would have tea and a pastry and later walk to the Hilton on the Apollolaan for dinner. Happy memories. Oud Zuid always struck me as a quiet and dignified neighborhood, well suited for Opa's retirement. And then, to top it off, you show a bit of the Vondelpark I know so well. I lived around the corner from it for a half year in my 20's. Now when my man and I come to A'dam, we always stay at a b&b at the far end of the park , so we walk it every morning to get to the canal ring. Last spring we saw the mama stork with her babies in the nest and, of course, the raucous green parrots that live in the park. So this particular video seems like a gift just for me -- and my birthday is coming soon! Thank you very much!

At 19:40 you walked by Het Amsterdams Lyceum. Any idea what type of higher education you’d follow in the US, since there’s no such school as a Lyceum? Is it a university?
Uni prep school. Gymnasium. Dunno wat the equalent is in the US.
