Liked and subscribed. I am digging this. "Will it run" videos are fun, but those wires are 56 years old. Anyone who has seen a glowing wire under the dash in the middle of nowhere, at night will testify... (raises hand). Same with rupturing a rock hard brake hose. November is going to come quick. That motor is zero priority, drop a runner in it, skip the crate motor. Looking forward to a pan swap with the body on. Harvest what you need from the other bugs. You got this, go man, go!
I have a tire question. What do you think would be the tallest and maybe widest tire i could put on stock 15" 1963 beetle rims. Car is stock height. I just want to maybe get more miles per hour on the hgihway with a taller wheel right now i have 165 80 r 15 as the tire size thanks love your site
The 71 Super belongs to one of the guys here at the shop, it will be going home soon, now that it's starting to cool off. I did some videos on it that will be coming out soon. As for the T-shirt, yeah it's an old one! I'm guessing 4 or 5 years old now at least?
@@Sam_Mebane So bugs aren't good to drive in 100+ degree heat? Do they overheat? I'm in NY so it never gets that hot here, lol. Sad about the t-shirt...would have added one to my order last week if they were still available...
@@chrisfreemesser the VW is fine...the occupants not so much! Not many people want to sit on a vinyl seat on a 100+ degree day in a car that doesn't have air conditioning!
Agreed, I asked the guys at Firestone if they could order the tires in and they said no. The vintage Firestone tires are made under license from another supplier.
I'd put the Porsche 356 nippled hub caps on that would look cool
The nipple caps are pretty cool, I agree!
Awesome video👊🏾
I was just looking at the Mobelwagen for my 68… looks sharp. Like faded dirty blue jeans look. Maybe clear coat? White basket weave interior…
Good choice on the wheels. Looking forward to seeing progress.
Excellent Video!
Really help me to choose my wheels 🎉 thank u

Already on it! Thanks for the sub!
That's what I'm talking about!
Ty for charing , nice job
Good call on the disk brake upgrade Sam. Always better than the stock drum brakes.
Yeah, especially when my good looks are at stake! LOL
Smoothie wheels are so much better looking than regular wheels 🛞

Your best bet it to head to a local tire shop and talk to people that regularly deal with tires.
THANKS I WILL @@Sam_Mebane
That '71+ bug in the background is such a distraction 🤣
I like that t-shirt but don't see it on the website. Old design that's no longer available?

Firestone will not order these into a store… weird
