I was devastated when they finally closed Ascot down. I use to go there to watch my dad race. The last time I was there he had a crash and it would be his last race I watched of him. The park had/has a special meaning to me just as my dad doe's also. I sure will keep missing ol Ascot. Thanks for the post and memories !!!
I was at this race. That was Jorgensons 5th consecutive Ascot TT win. I always thought Shobert had a huge advantage because the Hondas were so fast on the oval tracks. But he showed how good he really was that night. When he hit that jump at that speed it was amazing. And much more impressive live. Thanks for posting.
