Good vid, I take a fair amount of emergency gear, but still need to improve, thanks for the information. Early in my MTB riding days I learnt early about bladder care, leave it in the freezer when not being used and cleaning becomes a thing of the past.
A quick vineger rinse (light acid) and pulling through the bite valves etc. will kill most bacteria. Good to clean your Lifestraw this way too. Some seasoned global travelers carry a small bit of vodka, wound cleaning, bacteria killing, fire starter...and er...other things.
Great film. Thanks. Agree with comment below re space blanket. Good for keeping body temp regulated and also can be used as shelter if forced to deal with unplanned overnight stops. I also include a length of para cord in my kit.
Thanks Simon. A space blanket has been an overwhelming response as an item for the kit. I'll be ordering one + a magnesium block shortly for trial and review. Paracord also a great idea. Thanks for the message.
I really like the magnesium block and flint for starting fires, due to the heat burning magnesium creates, also my other must have is some cotton balls with vaseline added to them, really good when wet as the burn for longer. Great video, people should plan for the unexpected when traveling in the bush.
A space blanket is handy, can keep you or an accident victim (helps with shock I believe) warm, dry if used as a tarp and also good for signalling. Packs small too.
Noice, I’ll be heading up that way soonish. I’ve done some tracks out of Coffs with some mate that live there and we were heading up your way last year but the fires stopped us and we had to back track. We were heading your way to do a riding course.
I’ve got a gs 800 f which I love for the long haul out of sydney, Big heavy bugger compared to your thumper off the road. It’ll go anywhere until I run out of talent ,fall over, then it wait for my mates to come back or catch up so I get get it off the ground
Just can't stop watching these videos. Really informative and entertaining.
Thanks Larry. I try to make it that way so I'm glad im doing something right! Cheers
great ideas, for the beginner
Hi...I believe a good whistle as part of the emergency kit is a must! Great video and I'll be updating my kit accordingly...Thanx!
Fantastic idea Elton, thanks!
Very well done again.
Thanks Chris. Much appreciated
