Really wasn’t until someone pointed out that I realized how much screen shake is in a lot of these. I like when animators put their own flair into it, but I’ve begin to wonder if they’re starting to over do it, fits in some games but not all FPS needs that much.
Is it just me, or do all the Harsh Doorstop sounds all sound terrible? No echos, no ambient noise. Just sounds like they recorded themselves reloading some airsoft guns in a closet, then just plopped them in the game without any editing.🤔
Battlefield 1 weapon sounds were the best! Guns like the SMLE and M1911 in that game were worth using just for the sounds alone. That game from 2016 could teach some of today's games a thing or two about sound design...
Many of these are dumb, mundane, and not even satisfying. Sometimes, it takes a game from the 2000s like Perfect Dark to give us some satisfying reload animations.
