  • WHICH IS WHICH ??? Purple VS red ? (answer below)
Purple was Schecter, Red was Seymour Duncan
Here we are again with pickups, but this time, it's passive pickups. My Schecter is amazing, but I felt it needed mpre guts ! I decided to try my old friend, the SH 13 Dimebucker, made especially for Dimebag Darrell (Pantera) by Seymour Duncan.
In this video, I also show you the basics of recording tube amps at home (my way of doing so) with a D.I., impulse responses and lots of blankets ! haha !
Which one is your favorite ?

I couldn’t tell too much of a difference… i got the multi scale 7 string version of this with hotrails… and it is a darker sounding setup generally.. but i pan it with my other brighter sounding schecter 7 that has 57/61 active EMG… they fill out eachother nicely, sounds like korn

Excellent video and playing here...I too love the Sh-13 Dimebucker..hot enough for pinch harmonics anytime and overall just an awesome pickup in the Seymour Duncan lineup..I have 2 of them here waiting to go into guitars as well as a Dimarzio Tone Zone bridge pickup and Dimarzio Air Norton neck pickup and 1 more Dimarzio X2N bridge pickup..all of the Dimarzios are Black..but my new Reaper will arrive Monday and can't wait to hear how it sounds through my EVH Stealth LBX 15 and Stealth 50 watt heads..should sound Badass !

The purple was the actual stock Schecter pickup !

I own this guitar and knew right away that the purple was the stock Decimator. While I do mostly like it, I feel like the sound gets really muddy some times. What do you think? Also, maybe it's just my Line 6 can't handle that fat of tone?
Great playing dude, you totally blew me away with that...🤘

Thanks! I dismissed the stock pickup pretty quickly, even if it's surprisingly good. I ended up putting a Duncan distortion, but I might put back the dimebucker in. It's sizzling hot and very precise

How does that work with the sustaniac, you had written Sustaniac on but you have your pickup selector at the bridge pickup ? I thought you could only use the Sustaniac "effect" on the Sustaniac pickup that you have in the neck or can you use that Sustaniac effect on Schecter bridge pickup as well ? The Dimebucker def sounded hotter and better to be honest, great pickup even though I prefer the Dimarzio Super Distortion as my all around rock & metal pickup.

damn man. i forgot to care about the pickup sounds, your playing is CVLT! damn nice. but you gotta hand it to the decimator - for a "cheap" guitar manfacturer pickup, it sounds extremely good. evil sound, quite good note separation with high gain. think i won't swap mine out, at least not for now.

You're right, I was actually very surprised to hear how it holded up to the Duncan ! Thanks a lot for the compliment ;)

Please tell me which wires of the diamond decimator are hot, which are together, and which is the grounding? And are they active pickups?

    • @jonathanguimond

They are passive, but I do not know the wires' colour unfortunately

    • @rosskrause3926

I just ordered one of these in the Inferno Burst finish..usually the Bridge pickups "Hot wire" is soldered to the first lug / far left lug on the volume pot with the pot installed and looking at the electronics cavity from my past experience of swapping out pickups..so if the stock pickup is still wired in the guitar that's how I usually can tell with no schematic.. I am guessing that the bare wire and other wired tied into it that's soldered onto the back of the pot are the ground wires and the other 2 are soldered to the pickup position switch..I don't have my Reaper here yet or I could tell you for sure what color wires go where..my new Reaper should be here in 2 days on Monday.

First time I've seen dimebucker direct mounted. Did it line up with existing screw holes? Got a Jackson sl2 with direct mount pickups (Duncan distortion) and have wanted to try one out in there. Just wasn't sure if they would line up right.
