    Did anyone else hear about the team that competed with a lame horse? I can't remember which team it was.
    This is such a well behaved, patient horse, mine would have tossed his head and most likely bucked since he's pretty lazy and hates when I ask him for canter lol.

    • @robynzelickson6164
      @robynzelickson6164 2 года назад

      The horses have to pass an inspection before the competition to make sure that they are sound. If they became lame before their round, it would be evident when they established their pace while being lunged. I don't believe for a minute that a horse could or would compete with vaulters if it were lame. I call BS on that story.

      Not all horses are right for vaulting horses.

      @@robynzelickson6164 I’ve seen many horses pass vet check when they shouldn’t lol

    • @robynzelickson6164
      @robynzelickson6164 2 года назад

      @Neetha it would be pretty tough to get away with it when the horse is out cantering in the ring with all eyes on it. If it was lame, it would be obvious and would be pulled. Might get by the inspection, but not the judge when vaulters present a clearly lame horse.

      I am a vaulter and I will confirm this story, the horse was lame on the circle but not on the straight line vet check (I also can’t remember which country it was and I don’t want to misspeak) they had a second vet check after the first round and he passed but still looked off for his other rounds. Even the competitors were surprised that the horse in question passed the vet check. It was an unfortunate situation that was not handled well by the vets completing the checks.

    La voltige est un sport très compliqué si on se fait léger le cheval ne sentira rien et il ni a aucune cruauté je le sais car c'est mon sport

    Есть ли специалисты,способные ответить -для лошади это опасно?Речь идёт об позвоночнике.

    I can understand just one competitor but......now...I think is to much for one horse to do and what is behind this until we see the show...

    • @Sydneythecheese
      @Sydneythecheese 2 года назад +7

      These horses weigh close to 2000 lbs (much larger than regular riding horses which start around 800 lbs). Even with 3 vaulters on at a time, they never exceed 20% of the horses weight which is the general rule of thumb for horse use. If this horse wasn’t happy doing this job, you would see it, horses don’t lie. Vaulting horses are treated with so much love and respect and in order to be consistent enough to carry a routine like this, the Horse would need to be at least as invested as the human athletes and genuinely enjoy the job.

      @@Sydneythecheesewell no hate just saying smth… not every vaulting horse is treated right, at my barn there’s a vaulting horse which is in a dark stall with no way to look outside, he can‘t be ridden and some people who walk in the stall give him a slap because he „cannot behave“. I‘ve only seen heim going out on the paddock once but never with other horses bc he „can‘t be with other horses“ he bites and kicks in his stall and can only move in there…

    Seriously who came up with this? It's so odd to me. I remember seeing similar at the circus when I was a little girl- the white horses with pretty girls in sparkles. But when did it become a sport?

    • @robynzelickson6164
      @robynzelickson6164 2 года назад +2

      It started as a method for Roman soldiers to train. I'm not sure when it became a sport. Vaulters learn how to land on a horse's back without going plonk!!

    • @Sydneythecheese

      Gymnastics was originally created as training for Vaulting, the sport has been around for thousands of years but is only resurfacing as “mainstream” now

    Stop animal cruelty

    • @Sydneythecheese
      @Sydneythecheese 2 года назад +1

      Show us where animal cruelty is present. These horses weigh around 2000 lbs so even with 3 people on their backs, they never exceed the 20% rule recommended by vets. The padding also has carbon fiber inlay to help protect their backs and the athletes train for years to to be soft and move with the horses. If this horse was being treated cruelly, you would be able to see it in his actions (horses don’t lie) but he shows zero signs of distress and is absolutely as invested in this performance as his human athletic partners.
