Anyone else have this cranked high, while fighting Gaul not taking a single hit from him learning every one of his move-sets as a kid? Man this takes me back I may one day order a PS2 just to play this game again to relive the glorious nostalgia.
Spyro: We can't stop it from out here. But maybe- Sparx: Whoa whoa! Wait wait wait! You're not thinking about going in there are you? Spyro: Come on, Sparx. We're gonna need you to lead the way. Sparx: Aww come on, you know I got your back, I just like complaining. Let's go.
@@goldengoodra2941realistically, I don't know. Sparx would have logically survived the burned lands if he could survive around The Destroyer. Then again I don't know if he could make it to the floating islands. He's only a dragonfly. I think game dev answer would be that "without Sparx, then the death of Ignitus, it leaves the player alone, or alone with their coop partner. It then drives home the fact hat these last two levels, and final boss are serious. No more jokes, no more games, this is it. That is why we wrote into the story, that Sparx had to stay behind."
@@kevinmoore2474 To be frank, I think the "realistic" answer is that the Destroyer's core simply wasn't as hot as the Belt of Fire Spyro, Cynder and Ignitus had to cross. Now obviously "realistically" speaking, the Destroyer would also be too hot for a dragonfly, but I think in the context of the game, in-universe, that'd be the more plausible explanation. The Belt of Fire was simply much hotter. In fact, enough that not even dragons could withstand it without protection, not even a fire dragon such as Ignitus. Perhaps even with his protection shield, the heat would have been too extreme for a dragonfly to bear while being just bearable enough for the dragons to cross.
Also known as the Malefor statue reveal, where that epic pan around the dragon statue is the same as the one in the Dragon Temple… except much more malicious looking.
Man... I love TLoS so much. It's almost my favorite trilogy of all time. The gameplay may not be good the first two games, but the lore, the much MUCH deeper story they gave to this tale is what makes me love it. Music is outstanding in all aspects, there's no need to point that out. Loveable characters. I wish people made more games like this.
Skylanders isn't even a Spyro game. I just see a purple lizard thing called Spyro. I wish there was more about TLoS. And, like you said, a tv show or at least a movie would be perfect.
I missed battling Gaul when he would be using his swords.....And having to jump over the shockwaves until the right moment to strike came.... God I loved that boss battle!
Can't relate. Not being able to play around his attack patterns and being forced to wait for the shockwave attack made Gaul a very dull boss. Concurrent Skies Cynder is the only legitimately good boss I've encountered so far in LoS.
This game was SO HARD as a child. It took me a dozen tries to defeat Gaul. But holy fucking shit, this soudtrack kept me going. It gave me chills back then and still does to this day. I really wish The Legend of Spyro got more love without being compared to the original games. It's a different concept and in that concept it did brilliant. This songs makes me tear up every time with how epic it is goddamn
This boss made me rage so hard when I was younger because I found him crazy hard. I replayed the games recently, and actually sound him easy, around ten years later. I don't know why, maybe it's because I'm now a somewhat experienced Soulsborne player or because I have adult prospective and knowledge now, but either way, after I won after about five attempts, I sat back and thought "damn, that was easy, how did I have so much trouble with him before?".
That makes me want to play it again and see if I can beat it more easily. That might be impossible due to my WII not working anymore. Though maybe I could use my WII U to play it. I absolutely despised his jumping attack.
That fight on Hard mode was such bullshit. The hardest thing I've ever done in a video game. Thankfully, the dark mode that was unlocked from it was worth it :)
One of the most badass childhood bosses there’s no changing my mind lmao this was j a different level of a video game & a feeling when I hear Spyro music. So damn nostalgic I can practically see Gaul jumping around w the swords rn. I can see me dying & struggling over again up until I finally beat the mf. The cutscenes after are pretty badass too
Yep me too, that distorted & layered voice really confused me but you can hear a high-pitched and almost raspy voice in there which most definitely is his but is combined with a deeper one, I think there's two deep ones.
Oh God. Beating him on hard mode on the GBA version was the hardest video game accomplishment I've ever done; I'm not even able to replicate that feat as an adult. It was worth it though. Dark difficulty on the GBA version is SOOO dope!
You kidding? Eternal Night ramps up the difficulty exponentially from A New Beginning. There's no forgiveness, I'm an adult, been playing for years, still hate Gaul, and the Ravage Rider.

Thank you thank you thank you! Now I finally know the poem the choir is chanting! The translation is pretty grim, very fitting for the story in the game. Do you know the latin chants for any other Eternal Night tracks? I'd love to know more!

Many people may not have grown up with the Legend of spyro series but as someone who did, the music is just so..atmospheric at its core
i know... but it makes me want spyro in smash bros... ITS PERFECT!!

@@growasowa3444 I concur. Steam from LoS A New Beginning was definitely a good end to Munitions Forge.
