- Hi everyone, I have to be honest, I totally didn't expect this video to get so many views, so I decided to add a little description.
In this video I filmed part of a Stibbert museum exhibit, ( @museostibbert_fi ) in Florenc, Italy, when I was on tour in Italy in December 2024. Truly one of the best collections I've seen around the world.
The museum is amazing in the richness and diversity of its collection. My guide was also very knowledgeable and very interesting about the collection. It was very interesting to interact with her. Thank you so much again!
The only two, but huge disadvantages: the tour is possible only with a guide, which is understandable because a huge number of exhibits are not covered with glass, and there are more than enough idiots in the world to whom, even as adults, it is necessary to explain that you can not touch historical treasures with your hands. The second disadvantage: the tour lasts only an hour, so I had absolutely no time to scrutinize each exhibit of the collection. Had I been there without a guide, it's likely that it would have taken me about two or three full-day visits to really scrutinize everything.
All in all, enjoy!
What astonishing craftmanship.thank you for sharing

Been to Florence many times but did not know of this museum. Going back there this year so will pay a visit. Thanks for discovering it for me!
@@alalder1533 my pleasure!
Having said that, I must warn you that despite the inexpensive ticket (10 €) it is impossible to walk around the museum by yourself there, you must necessarily be part of a tour group recruited from among the people who come. Thus, you have to be with the tour guide provided by the museum. The tour unfortunately only lasts for an hour, so you will have very little time to see everything in detail.
Still, it's really worth it!

@@MarkKovnatskiy OK thanks for that. I've located the museum on Google Earth and will be in Ferenze for a few days so will sort that out.
Amazing condition, superior display! thank you!

Well, at least one of the best, indeed.
Hi, check Vienna Hofburg palace, Wallace collection in London, Leeds Armoury in The UK.
@@khironcentauras9879 you also didn’t mention the Arsenal in Graz, Austria, as well as Metropolitan museum in New York.
Dang, I wished I had known about the museum in Florence while there.
@@PeterBex_ArtDirector Oddly enough, you're far from the only one who didn't know about this museum. On the day I was there, the entire group of tourists consisted of two people, including me, and the tour guide. At least now you know where to go the next time you're in Florence!

Collezione stupenda !!
@@ardito52-7 so true!
Italy manufactured some of the best armour of the medieval period
@@MB-oc1nw yes indeed!
these armors are not medieval but from renaissance on. XVI century onward
This answers the question on what people spent there money on back then
@@user-zo1uj2lo8k Which is pretty much natural, given that if you want good protection on the battlefield, you have to invest in it.
Fabulous!!

I wonder if they have anything from the Maffei family?
Unfortunately, I don't know. I am planning to visit this museum this year too, I could ask.

I'm not surprised. Very few people know about this museum. In some ways it is even advantageous, because there are no huge crowds there, preventing you from familiarizing yourself with the museum's collection, besides, it is quite realistic to go there at any time and free to get in, unlike the Uffizzi Gallery.
Sa doit être un petit musée ❤
No, on the contrary, the museum is quite large, housed in a castle.
