Tarikh Episode 82
In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil talks about the second battle of Panipat fought on November 5, 1556. The battle wa fought between Afghan Army of Hemu and the forces of the Mughal emperor Akbar. Starting from Humble Beginnings Hemu rose to the title of Wazir during the reign of Aadil Shah Suri of Suri Empire. After the Death of Humayun in 1555 Hemu started his campaign against Mughal army and Captured Delhi and Agra by defeating the Mughals led by Tardi Beg Khan at the Battle of Tughlaqabad. After this victory Hemu Coronated himself as Ruler of India as Hemchandra Vikramaditya. Akbar and his guardian Bairam marched to Panipat to reclaim the lost territories. The two armies clashed at Panipat not far from the site of the First Battle of Panipat of 1526.
