What a pivotal scene. For the first time it shines through just how much Sophie has grown up and matured from her previous relationships. As someone who's watched the character right from her birth it made me smile fondly and think "our girl is a woman now." The calm adult way Sophie dealt with Maddie's insecurity was lovely to see, and some very impressive acting from Brooke. Maddie is scared of giving herself to Sophie because all she's known is pain, rejection and probably worse. Everyone has always let her down and so she's developed a brash, tough exterior that rejects first to save the pain from what she's certain will come about, yet beneath that Maddie is soft and vulnerable and wishes for what she has to be true. I felt my breath catch when Sophie calmly offers her safety, shelter, warmth, love and acceptance. Oh wow that was brilliantly written and acted! Now my heart goes out to Maddie and is shouting "Go on, do it, take the risk! You know you love her, now do the scariest of all and trust her too!"
I think their whole relationship is going to blow wide open when Sally kicks Maddie out and Sophie goes with her. I mean, isn't that the ultimate sacrifice? Leaving the security of home and family for someone... That will be the moment Maddie realizes Sophie is for real about her. I'm excited to see how it pans out.
Thanks sooo much for the speedy upload. I love Amy's acting, Sophies character has grown up so much. And i'm waiting for Maddie to crack so this storyline can really start. and i'm praying for just one really good kiss that way we really know its real maddies not just playing sophie which is what i'm worried about.

I wonder what they are going to come up with next for Maddie to get kicked out of the house. when is the next one on? While she kissed Amber she never slept with her, but she did have a full relationship with her last girlfriend Jenna before meeting Maddie. Regarding your disappointment with Corrie not showing more of their sexual side, I agree and share your disappointment. However you need to know context as to why that is. The station it is broadcast on, ITV, has no issue with lesbianism at all and will freely show it, sex and nudity and all. What it does have though is a "watershed" rule. This means that anything broadcast before 9pm has to be self censoring as that is deemed family viewing time and anything after 9pm can be fully adult with its content. Corrie is broadcast at 7:30pm and has always been aimed at family audiences so it has to be mindful that minors can be watching. So, basically, the show's problem isn't with Sophie and Maddie's lesbianism at all, it's with sex in general. You won't see hetero sex scenes in it either. That said, the show is slowly pushing boundaries and can now show stuff that was not allowed ten years ago, so it's only a matter of time.

The only reason they showed you Soph and Sian doing the "before" Sex in one Scene and the "ending" of the Sex in the next Scene is because the Script had it so Sally walked in on them... Even Hollyoaks, which is mainly for the Teens, that never has anything Sex shown in it, they have that special "Late Night Hollyoaks" which is shown AFTER 9pm which does usually have Sex, Swearing and other stuff that they feel wouldn't be suitable for Children. Being a Lesbian myself, I don't need to see the ACTUAL Sex Scene's to know that any Lesbian Couple are happy, it shows in the body language before and after.
