Their votes doesn’t matter if the members vote the son of the dictator, because if the group of a party list Neri Colmenares of Bayan Muna has 4.5M members, it could match the INC vote and even top them with 1.5M more votes. I admire prof jayeel for his balanced insights about this. But let me add. Voting in unity is just one of the manifestation of INC's doctrine of Unity. Sociopolitically and historically speaking, when INC was established in 1914, it faced a lot of challenges, persecutions, and trials not only just from ordinary fellow filipinos, but mostly came from powerful groups back then like the catholic church, as we know, used its power by using politicians (politicians were mostly laymen, Hermano mayor, educated by priests, some of their family members are priests/members of catholic hierarchy) easily swayed and used by priest/ bishop's demands to mitigate the INC. There was a time in the earliest years of the INC when its members were denied of equal treatment from justice just because they are INC members. I admire prof jayeel for his balanced insights about this. But let me add. Voting in unity is just one of the manifestation of INC's doctrine of Unity. Sociopolitically and historically speaking, when INC was established in 1914, it faced a lot of challenges, persecutions, and trials not only just from ordinary fellow filipinos, but mostly came from powerful groups back then like the catholic church, as we know, used its power by using politicians (politicians were mostly laymen, Hermano mayor, educated by priests, some of their family members are priests/members of catholic hierarchy) easily swayed and used by priest/ bishop's demands to mitigate the INC. There was a time in the earliest years of the INC when its members were denied of equal treatment from justice just because they are INC members. Because of that, voting in unity is one of the most important aspects of INC, "GIVE TO US THE EQUAL TREATMENT OF THE LAW, AND WE SHALL VOTE FOR YOU". Unity is practice inside the church not only in election, learn more, please ask the ministers of INC, they are more happy to explain to you and have the authority to explain one of the many doctrines that members are following for the glory of God.
For the longest time INC embraced the unity vote of their active members. No one has the rights to question that system.
