I use them for colouring and calligraphy as well! They are awesome and I had beading once (I layered them +/- 6 times, that would destroy every paper) and I usually use cheap artist's paper... So yeah, it's the paper in the box that is the issue. Have a nice day! 😁

When I was using the markers I was so scared to find the paper was tearing apart. I thought it was just me being my noob self, but I’m glad it wasn’t just me. Wonderful job as always Kasey.
I love pastels and I think this art turned out super cute! Also the green and blue shading reminded me so heavily of the children’s book The Napping House, if you’ve ever read it.

Your comment made me think of Jimmy Fallon because he wore his wedding ring just like Kasey does and he ended up suffering an injury to his finger. Well the finger ended up swelling which made the ring tighter and it caused more problems. Needless to say, they had to cut the ring off and he ended up having surgery on his finger to repair the damage that was done from the ring. He now no longer wears a wedding ring, or any ring for that matter. Tight jewelry of any kind can be potentially dangerous. Hopefully no issues arise with your mum or Kasey.

I've worked a lot with the Ecoline brush pens and i must say i don't really have that much of an issue with it destroying the paper, i have a really nice multi-media sketchbook though. It's very much how you apply it, if you want it more opaque you just don't add water but go in with the brush pen itself, if you want it more de-saturated you add water. It's basically vibrant watercolors. I must say that i don't really use the pastel colors though because by diluting the regular colors you can get pastel anyway. They're made to use with water so they are made to use on watercolor paper (or good mixed-media paper), i think you wrote these brush pens off pretty quickly.
The ecoline brush pens are *watercolor* brush pens. They have watercolor ink and are veery juicy so therefore you can add some to the paper and dilute them with water. I like using them for calligraphy and also as watercolor. I also prefer to use them with watercolor paper. Just some tips ❤️ Edit: and I also think the idea was to do some hand lettering this month, but I love what you did about it. God, I sound like an idiot, but my point is that I love your illustration. Not everyone likes calligraphy and I really like how you did this. Imma shut up now. Love you 💕
This is just an idea I had while looking at the colours: an elder in black and white (using the grey marker) teaching a child, coloured with the pastels. I love this self portrait by the way! It’s got such a fun vibe with the pastel colours 💕
I feel like Scrawlrbox does a better job than most other boxes about putting a good combination of art supplies that work well with each other together with the exception of paper. They always seem to send paper that is mismatched with the art supplies. Like water based mediums that pill and rip the paper on one pass. I would love to see you use these on watercolor paper. :)

I have the Fabre Castel kneaded erasers! They're great for removing the graphite but leaving faint pencil lines.
