thank you so much jivan! I love all your videos, they are always so helpful. I switched to kbm about 7 months ago, as I was watching this video I started realizing our play style is very similar and it occurred to me that the reason its similar is that when I started kbm all I watched was your videos and I think I naturally took on some of your play style and it has made me better because of it so I just wanted to say thank you!
I will say what helped me improve a lot in 3 weeks of kbm(i was console and been playing controller for 13 years, never touched a kbm) guys if u want to get better u have to play against real players, *Step 1:* Start w alone free builds piece control/crosshair maps and boxfights this will help u get a better feeling of the keyboard since boxfights is a slow paced mode u can play in your own time, it will help you get used to change guns and heals too, and yes u will lose a lot its part of the process *Step 2:* Play turtle wars to get more confortable moving, building and shooting, trust me playing turtle wars saved me a lot getting confortable to my keybinds and my muscular memorie, always try to do tunnels, double edit pieces and good peeks. *Step 3:* Now that ur u have a good knowledge of your own binds u should play 1v1 build fights and realistics, they will help u with ur mechs and get used to ur mouse sensivity while actually fighting, after that u should be good to play the game at a decent level, u should play some aim training maps too but turtle fights will help w close range fights so dont worry too much Btw while in freebuilding maps try to do some piece control too, even if ur alone it will help to get used to the keyboard, and in actual 1v1 buildfight play like a man, go for high, free build and try to get piece
thanks jivan i have been practising kbm for a month and i have been practising these and just hit my first triple edit thank you jivan and merry christmas
Everytime I see your videos, I always learn something new! Your videos are really well put together! If you can, could you tell me if you think edit on release on is better or if edit on release off is better?
I literally just started playing keyboard and mouse and was looking up videos how to get better yesterday get out wake up to my favorite Fortnite creator posting video that I need thank you❤
Thank you for posting this video i had switched to kbm about a month ago and got decent but im still not that great and i have been practicing so much and now i feel stuck and no one else has new videos also i got an e yosso keyboard and a razer deathader with an xbox series s
@jivan plz respond i switched form controller to kbm about 3 weeks ago today BUT im on xbox do you think i should stay on kbm or controller also im a big fan i watch almost every vid keep up the good work bro ❤❤
Thats most up to yourself, mostly changing your walk buttons is because you need more buttons around, if you need a tip, watch his "improve keybind" video
im not even lying about this but thank you im a 100+ ping player and i had really bad sens and binds but i didnt know what to change them to and know from this vid ive managed to get used to my new binds and sens and got earnings in the last solo cup
Hi Jivan I love your videos and how you play but I have a question . You play very smoothly, your mouse doesn't move that much and it looks like you're playing on a controller. but if you have to do a 180, you do it super fast and editing is also done super fast and smooth I wonder how you play so smoothly. When I look at other people or pros, I see that their playstile is still not so smooth. I have also tried to play as smoothly as possible, but whenever I have to run away quickly or edit quickly, that doesn't work, maybe you could explain this. By the way, your videos are really the best, keep it up
Hey I have a question about my keybinds. I used some that my friend recommended Movement: Sprint caps lock Crouch shift Combat: reload is r Use if f Pickaxe is m4 Building: Wall is z Floor is x Stairs is c Roof is Trap is t My editing bind is e These are my binds can you tell me if something is wrong or not good.
Yo jivan. Great vid. Quick question, why do my actual in-game fights and 1v1s look nothing like the peace control drills? I know it's not my awareness because most the time I can predict them, but as the fight progresses I find myself always playing passively
Well not every fight is the same, not every fight follows the same formula as they can be unpredictable. You won't always see the same moves in real games.
I've been considering switching to kbm but I've been playing controller since I started and I'm pretty good. I just wanted to ask if kbm is really good enough to switch from controller to kbm and focus on it more.
Hello jivan my name is Jakob and I am from Germany I just switched to keyboard and mouse I wandet to tell you that you and your maps are helping me much thanks that you are helping me on my KBM journey.
hey do you know what the target sensitivity is on fortnite? I know the scope one, but like I noticed Im still having trouble trying to control my mouse when Im trying to shoot someone up close, I either start to panic and cant get a good shot or Im just bad. lol Ive been on mouse and keyboard for about a year now. I just wanna get little better with my aimming, some days it feels like its really good and others it feels like Im just plan trash at it. I know I know have to to fast or to slow, cause if its to slow then I cant aim, and if its to fast I cant control it. Just seeing any tips out there, I know some say not to focus on the cross hairs so much and I think thats what I do alot of the time.
Hey Jivan, thx for the video. It’s come to the perfect time. I switched from controller to kmb. My biggest problem is, when I walk to the left and try to build boxes it feels so weird, because of my binds I guess. I have Q-Floor, E-Roof, X-Stair and C-Wall. I feel good with that because I haven’t a mouse with extra buttons. So should I change my binds? Or is it normal that the movement is so weird and difficult and different as controller. Thx :)
The movement is going to be different because you can't move all the same ways with keys as you do with sticks so if the binds are comfortable then don't change them unless you feel they are holding you back from playing better.
Yo bro, what’s up? I’ve been watching your videos for a short time but let me tell you something I love your content and how you teach us to improve our Fortnite skills, however I have got a situation, I’m a console player who plays in controller way, so… May you make a video like this one but in controller??? Love you Jivan.
yo, u seem really helpfull and educational, just one question,im kond of on a budget and my parents got me the razor balistik v3 wired mouse. Is that good although its wired? and it has a sniper button so could I lower the dpi for long range and then have a speraret fatser dpi for shotgus and building????
why would pros be using their wrist in valorant more vs fortnite? also how are you using your arm on 3.7 @1600 thats some wild work esp with the hand cam on
I play controller with 2 paddles and trigger stops and I don’t know if I should switch or not because many people say it isn’t even worth to be on controller in chapter 6
Not really, you need to have your pinky just for shift and q, the index for e, thats really slow for example when you need to put quick barriers because you got beamed.
Hey man thanks for all the advice but just one questions although u already said it in the video but is it that important to have low sensitivity cus im more of a wrist player due playing on console all my life (im kinda older the the average player) and i've found it really hard to try and get use to play with my whole arm, anyways thanks for this videos hope someone can help me if is not u lol
Hey jivan, my mousepad I about on square foot so I only move about like six to eight inches to do 1.5 spins, when I get a bigger mousepad how would you recommend getting used to it?
For improving me and my friend are switching at the same time is it still good practice to play box fights and 1v1 to improve aim and edits and building I do do free building and edit courses too. Should I also get a monitor first because I am on ps5 and can get 120 fps before a better keyboard and mouse for reference my mom didn’t know a lot about keyboards and mouse’s so she bought some cheap bundle and the keyboard is big.
I’m fine with editing and movement but building is the issue for me. Is there anyway to have some sort of “builder pro setting” I find it hard to select the build I want and then place it. Any tips?
My question is how do I improve on controller it feels like I’m reaching the skill cap just need to work on my aim a bit more and get slightly more consistent edits
Hey jivan I Need some help I am really good in creative and in reload I am unreal but I am like a bot in Battle Royale ranked and tournaments pls tell me what I can do?🙀😶🙃
When you are playing creative and reload with friends and stuff you probably are relaxed and don’t care if you die because you can respawn and you feel more free and can push more with no consequences if you die. But with normal Battle Royale, you don’t have that freedom of respawning so you might be overthinking and are too nervous to fight so your aim and mechanics go downhill and you die when you fight
jivan you should make a video on how to become best at what you can control. my laptop just isn’t consistent sometimes and i am good enough to hang with my comp but my frames drag me down. help me
I know how you mentioned use a low sensitivity and I know how you mentioned to get like a large mouse pad but I have a very small mouse pad. It's really small and I don't know what sensitivity should I have

What do you think about simple edit ? and would you use it if it were added to competitive matches ?
Yo good day good vid!
your always here
thanks
Hey I have a question about my keybinds. I used some that my friend recommended
Movement:
Sprint caps lock
Crouch shift
Combat: reload is r
Use if f
Pickaxe is m4
Building:
Wall is z
Floor is x
Stairs is c
Roof is
Trap is t
My editing bind is e
These are my binds can you tell me if something is wrong or not good.
Do u recommend that i use simple edit while learnin to switch to kbm so that i can learn my binds while not bein too terrible at the game?
do not use simple edit js get used to proper editing
Nah it’s fine to be terrible if u use simple edit u won’t learn anything
Yo jivan. Great vid. Quick question, why do my actual in-game fights and 1v1s look nothing like the peace control drills? I know it's not my awareness because most the time I can predict them, but as the fight progresses I find myself always playing passively
