      Looks like carry over cooking. Roo is unforgiving, 20s too long will ruin it, no joke. Also there was no sauce to go with it and in my expereince a sweet jus with a lot of body does a lot to help the texture of roo.

    Glad to hear you liked Australia, if you get the chance again I can Recommend Brisbane / Gold Coast in Queensland, should also save you about 2hrs flight time each way if you are coming from Seoul.

      It’s great if you marinade it before grilling or frying. I tenderise it first then marinade it in oyster sauce and soy, garlic and chilli.

    I'm Aussie. I've been cooking 'roo for years. It's so lean that it's easy to cardboard. The best method is to velvet it, then cook it any way ya want. Cooee!

      Kangaroo is an extremely sustainable source of meat in Australia. Cattle on the other hand is terrible in terms of the resources and land required.

    Kangaroo is so lean, you have to have it as close to rare as possible. These guys ruined those cuts and did Ben dirty.

    Skippy the bush kangaroo 😄 Aussie version of Lassie in America. I am a Aussie only had kangaroo once made me sick. They have cook it the right way hope yours was cooked right 😅. Maybe like a rabbit or deer meat?

    Nice video. I understand your curiosity about eating crocodile. I have eaten alligator white meat before. I pan fried it with blackened seasoning. The texture of the meat is very simlar to chicken. The white meat for alligator is the jaw meat and tail meat. So those are the specific meat portions of the crocodile you probably want to try (in the future).

      Depends a lot on the season, breed & location. It can vary from overwhelmingly gamey & tough, to being subtly sweet & smoky.

    Kudos to you ... roo is a great meat, we eat at least once a week. Its better when marinated and seared. The taste is irony and it is a lean meat. And it is a great way of being sustainable.     Kangaroo is real hard to cook well, maybe if you went to a sit down place might've been a lil better than delivered. But yes, we have way too many Kangaroos in Aus, so feel free to come often and eat more.

    Lots of Strayans think its awful meat. Im from New Zealand, and its my favourite meat out of everything ive eaten. Ive had your standard stuff... Cow, chicken, sheep, deer and pig... In Aussie, I had crocodile, ox and kangaroo. Kangaroo is a slight leap above everything else for me. The texture, the slight gaminess, the overall taste. Id eat roo, most days of the week.

      yeah it's real healthy too. Though the flavour depends a lot on the location, breed, climate, and season. I've had some that was delicious, and some that was pretty vile.
      I reckon a lot of aussies give it a try, go for the cheap stuff by the pet food section in Coles, have a bad experience, then get turned off for life.

    You need some gravy. That looks so dry. Maybe a kangaroo curry or ground kangaroo? I would like to try stir frying it. Kangaroos are in plague proportions and a farmer once told me, for every kangaroo that lives, that's one less sheep he can sustain. Great video. We don't see it in every shop and usually just a few cuts.

    When I've eaten kangaroo in restaurants it has been very tender. You could slice through it like butter. But they always looker 'pinker' than the meat you're eating here. I would agree yours has been overcooked, which would account for the reduced tenderness.

    My cousins cat ate raw roo most of her life. She was 21 years old and passed when she was squished by a car. Pretty good going really.

    I prefer my roo in a stew. Like a beef stew but roo. Slow cooked for a couple of hours. Swap out bay leaves for lemon myrtle leaves. Kangaroo has to be cooked medium rare if eating steak.

      I just bought some roo meat at Coles, burger patties, and stir fry strips are the go. Roo meat when it's butchered doesn't come in big beef steak cuts. The tail is supposed to be the best bit.

    Kangaroo is very lean a lot less fat but higher in iron, protein and omega 3. Beef has more zinc.
    And yes my uncle makes a mean Roo stew and much better had that way in my opinion
