Yes, they can happen ANYTIME and ANYWHERE. I had a tic attack at school last week. It was already a bad tic day from the start, all of my friends know I have Tourettes and they support me. I was screaming loud, falling down, hitting myself, screaming at teachers and friends, carthweeling, whistling, saying peoples names and hitting my head against desks. It wasnt until 3rd period until it got really really bad to where I couldnt even hold a pencil. Recently, I’ve got a new tic saying “OH” and sometimes I can stutter it or repeat it multiple times. I asked to go to the nurse and I barley made it to the nurse because of my falling tics. Luckily the principal helped me go to the nurse and when I got there I basically just had a tic attack. After my tic attack which lasted about an hour, I just started crying because I couldnt believe I had one at school. The nurse called my mom and I went home.

Thank you so much. This video has helped me so much. I got diagnosed with Anxiety induced Tourettes Syndrome (Or Tics) and it's been really hard since my transition from FTM and dealing with TS. I was in school when I had my first huge Tic Attack and It was hard to try and level out while dealing with all the judgmental stairs as my friends tried to keep them away. Now with this video, I can show more people what to do if this was to ever happen again. Thank you so much and keep up the good work 😊

im transmale and i also have tourette’s. usually im never far from my friends or girlfriend when im out so if i ever happen to fall into a tic attack, they know what to do so that im safe. i usually carry a stuffed animal with me in my backpack or have my hoodie around my waist so if i feel one coming, im able to protect my head when im on the floor. it sucks tho. sometimes my attacks are so bad, parts of me will be rly sore for a couple days :^/

I’m not sure if I do have Tourette’s but I do know I have tics (realized a lot of my mannerisms were actually tics after my friend who DOES have it told me “yeah that sounds like tics to me”) and I’ve been having a lot more tics lately and they’ve been progressively getting more rough (I’ve strained my neck multiple times just tonight) and I’m worried that I may send myself into an attack so this was rlly helpful

Last night I had a tic attack where my knees were almost buckling but really fast. And my elbows were jerking inwards towards my chest. It lasted for about three hours even with a PRN and tic medicine. (Guanfacine) by the end on this attack, I was sweating head to toe, and my limbs hurt so much. It was my first one that long. But this made me feel better. I didn’t know if it was normal to have them for that long. So, thanks! 😊

Hey, so a couple of weeks ago I suddenly developed really severe tics which started off with throwing my head back and tending my whole neck and shoulders. I was in psych hospital at the time and after an hour and a half I went to A and E who did CT scan and bloods and told me to go to my GP to speak to neurology.I was constantly Ticcing for 48 hours except when I was asleep and I barely slept because it’s incredibly hard when your body can’t stop moving.I went to my GP the next day and they said that it was stress induced tics and gave me some medication that does really help but also makes me really sleepy. The past couple of days have been a lot calmer but today I went out and had another bad attack on town and it was incredibly embarrassing and the medication didn’t help at all. Something I’ve found helpful Is wearing a neck brace during attacks because after hours of neck and head tics it’s extremely painful and also I developed a new popping noise tic today that was very loud and I couldn’t stop which meant everyone on the bus was staring. Something I found helpful with that was biting onto the plastic straw of my water bottle so that even though I was still Ticcing it was almost silent as I was just sucking the air through the straw it did hurt my lips so I changed to a silicon one when I got home and that was much better. And one more thing, water bottles with straws (like the kids ones) have really helped because drinking from cups can be hard and dangerous too! I hope this helps someone if they’re ever in a similar situation but also if anyone has any other things/ aids that help during tic attacks please let me know as I’m still learning about how to cope with it and it’s all really new x
