He didn't actually sing in the first movie, so I guess it would be awkward for him to sing this song since he didn't in the original. Zac has an amazing voice but he has a lower tone. A lot of his characters parts were high parts.

Apparently, he was filming his show called Killing Zac Efron in Papua New Guinea, and he was contacted real last minute (I think it took them time to finally get in touch with him 'cos he was so remote) and he sent in the little that he could over what was apparently a crappy Wi-Fi network. I was really expecting raven to dance along to the "wild cats" part, but it was nice seeing the original HSM cast members back together again.
i keep seeing people say zac wasn’t in it, and while this is true if you had actually seen the show premiere and not just this singular video you would’ve learned he was in a place with really shitty wifi and said he wished he could’ve done more, which is why he wasn’t in this part
