IIRC, this video fades out at the end of the plasma scene, right before the dancing cube. The "transmission" sample plays during the sword scene _after_ the cube.
This is absolutely delightful. It almost sounds POKEY-esque, which I love (POKEY being my favourite all time sound chip). Don't worry, it's not sloppy, it's marvelous. Love the STSPEECH samples too. 10/10, well done :-D
@@KarjamP particularly if you don't have to actually _compose_ it, just try not to spoil it. It takes a lot of skill to make a well-known hit song unlistenably bad.
@@yzimsx It's actually a lot harder to work with something you hadn't created personally, since then, you actually need to know the song. Incredibly easy to mess up... (Also, even songs you've composed entirely by yourself can take quick to compose, assuming, of course, you know what you're doing.)
What configuration do I need to be able to playback this beautiful SNDH file ? I've tried with Maxymiser 119 and 134 on a 4Mb 1040STe and Hatari but I always end up with a black screen after loading the file.
@@DataAirlinesRecords Thanks for the usefull hint, I am now playing back the file using SND_PLAY, I didn't realise maxYMser would freeze up due to the closed/non-editing lock on the file. Amazing conversion !
If you mean the program type in general, it's called a tracker. It's still the most popular approach of composing chiptunes for various platforms and there's a quite broad range of them out there. This one in particular though is called the MaxYMiser tracker.
Why do the drums and hi hat's always sound like crap on that Yamaha chip, can't it do any better? How did he get the chip to synthesize "get down!" and "I am not an atomic playboy!"?
This is using the "native" capability of the ST's YM sound chip. That's what makes this impressive. It's not "cheating" and just using an algorithm to allow the CPU to brute-force mix and control the YM to playback 4 channels of digital sound, turning the YM into a low-quality DAC.
It didn't say "transmission", so I said that part myself.

This cover reminds me of the soundtrack of the Dune game on the Sega Genesis, awesome!
Impressive from a technical standpoint.
Excellent usage of STSPEEK, an ancestor to Chipspeech and Vocaloids.
Incredible how much musical information they were able to cram into 3 channels.
Wait until you find out about 1-bit music and how much you can fit into one channel
Straight from the chip sound highway!
Who says the ST can't make amazing music. Thanks and well done.

Even speech was ported? Wow.
"made in a few hours"
You'll be surprised as to how fast music composition actually is...

thats because the sndh file is closed.

nice cover

Love this! What's the name of this program? Is this how you make chips still?
It looks verry much as Fasttracker.

SnakerShaker Well, it doesn't really matter if it sounds good.

The ST could do a lot better mod wise playing back samples. So I'm not quite getting this.
ruclips.net/video/pfMrvI2sg90/видео.html JUST for example. . . . . .
Most of the sound is chip based, which is raw, and IMO more awesome. Different strokes for different folks
