There are much much better islands in Greece to go to. Much better in prices and value combined, much better in scenery and people, best in accommodation. Try Zakynthos, or Try Skopelos and Skiathos and Alonissos,( most amazing scenery) or try Milos, or Symi island
This is indeed heaven. But I have been to Greece 20 times, and have seen heaven in Greece in so many ways, from mountains and landscapes to out of this world natural splendors, from islands each unique to crystal clear coastlines, from heavenly food to incredible hospitality and from the most picturesque towns and villages to the incredible culture and unparalleled history. The combination of all of these things is very rare in this world, and what is even more rare is that in most places and corners in Greece you can do all of it on a single day every day. That is Greece a heaven that has everything and which you don't have to travel 1000 kilometers to visit or experience something. You can experience it all anywhere
Omg I am so happy that you are back to Greece and that there will be videos from Greece, I love them the most! I was just watching your old videos from Greece!
So nice to see Mykonos in Winter! Beautiful!! Your greek is very good, well done :) I would love to see more islands coming, everything is so peaceful that time of the year...
Mykonos is the most beautiful island, i usually visit around July and will be going around June this year . Looks amazing in quiet season. that blue and white is something else ! Great video
Excellent guiding through Mikonos during the Winter, Gabriel. Your camera is great and your narrative, as always, is just the right amount of info and very relaxing. Your comment...."not too much....but enough" was poignant and true and as you say....applies to "Life" as well. Bravo and keep your camera rolling on more from the Greek Isles....please!
Impressive. I love Mykonos. Spend a wonderful summer there in 06. In fact I still keep in contact with the hotelowner. You must go down and see the Little Venice region. I do feel that Mykonos lacks something without the crowds.
Ahhh I loved watching this, Mykonos is definitely on my to visit list and I’ve watched so many videos however, this was different due to it being so quiet and out of season. I kept thinking ooh great time to go and take photos! Perfect 👌
It's been several years since I visited Myconos and I'm so surprised it hasn't changed. I was there during August so it was hopping then. The nicest people and the best food I've ever had in my life. It was very hard to leave.
I was there in July 2018- it was crazy busy & very hot, but I still loved it! Cool to see vehicles where only people walked during the summer. Delos was great; hope you get to go back!
That's the most unusual street planning. I wonder when the village was built? While watching I had a really interesting memory... When I was a kid I'd make paths in the snow and pretend they were village streets. They always had weird little angles, just like the town you're showing. While watching your video it's like I was transported back into my childhood while watching that child try to build little streets like the one's you're showing. Trippy ! Thanks for sharing.
Love your videos Gabriel, especially your greek ones as my family are Greek. I would recommend visiting Volos as it's an amazing Greek city. Looking forward to more content!
Been following this channel since 4/5 years, he's never set foot around that part of the world. Prime reason being it's expensive, but the times ripe now, he can certainly afford it!!
This is one of very heavy visited places in Greece, in season, off -its all Yours ,there are some visitors-maybe.The old town is a maze,to find back the rent room is a task on its own.Go to the beach and high walk-trail,yep ,You and some beer for company, h a ha.I visited Greek once and most of the time on the bus, shame on me.Great video Gabriel.TH
You learned a little Greek. Good for you. There was Portuguese--? I like the white and the colors. I like the churches, although my last denomination would probably call me a heretic. The architecture is beautiful. I was considering France within the next ten years or so in the off-season. Mykonos looks beautiful! The sky and sea and sun.
True. However Mykonos town is different. The reason it's so quiet now is because it's low season. It's like that any time of day or evening right now. However I suspect that during the high season it will be crowded here all day long including during the afternoons, because it's such a huge tourist place. But normally Greek towns, especially on the islands, are very quiet in the afternoons because people are staying out of the heat.
Nice to see Mykonos Town out of season, so calm and chilled. It is overpriced but it's beautiful until the hordes of tourists arrive and you get two massive cruise ships pull in, then Mykonos Town is just ram packed, so are the beaches. So you picked an ideal time to visit. Gabe are you going to be in Turkey? I plan on doing Istanbul, beautiful and highly recommend Dalyan, Fethiye and Kas on the coast. Look forward to April!! Enjoy your travels.
This place looks a bit like Sidi Bou Said in Tunisia. If you haven't been there, check it out in the future. Tunisia is a really cool place to visit. Safe, cheap. And you can visit some places where the first Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark were shot.Cheers.
The blue and white buildings is typical of the Cyclades islands. In some areas it's actually required by law. I'm not sure if it's the law here or not but anyway it's the norm. Most of the Greek island villages in this area look the same.
Yeah, it also seems to me that walls are not just white but also quite clean so maybe they are re-painted relatively often and possibly somehow subsidized by city.
The white on the walls is actually some kind of lime (I'm not sure about the exact translation), so it's not paint. It's widely used because a) it gives a bright white reflective surface (the inside of the house is cooler), b) it was enforced by law in the past because it's actually a sterilizing medium (epidemies were a frightful thing in the past, especially for a scarcely populated island) and maybe most importantly c) in Greece it's the cheapest thing (and most abundant material) you can use to color your walls and has been used from ancient times.
I don't think you can see Delos from Mykonos. It's a pretty long boat ride (an hour or more if I remember correctly). We took a guided tour of the island. It's uninhabited and the whole island is totally an archaeological site. One of my favorite memories from our trip to Greece.
HEY GABRIEL,YOUR INSPIRED ME TO TO TRAVEL THE OTHER SIDE OF DAWN.........NOW I AM PLANNING TO RIDE MOTORCYCLE TO ALL OVER GREECE THIS SPRING.....WILL SHARE MY EXPERIENCES...THANKS.
You were wondering about where the locals were at...some locals I talked to in Santorini said because many folks on the tourist islands are so busy during the high season (many work 10-12 hour days, 7 days a week), a lot of them will go to Athens or other parts of the mainland during the low season for vacation, side jobs, etc...hopefully I’m remembering that correctly, but could be the case there in Mykonos as well
Yeah I'm sure there's something to that. Also probably a lot of the business owners are actually from Athens and they stay there during the winter and then come live in Mykonos in the tourist season.
The Sony did not work out for you? I may have to check out Greece, I see they ride a lot of scooters and motorcycles, looks like smaller sizes since I image a big bike would not make sense in those tight areas and you are on island. I wonder how many people think that Greece is all islands and don't know there is actually a mainland part that.
I can see that, my Sony a6000 has it in the lenses, but I 'm selling it and buying a Canon SL2 or 200D to do video with. the Gopro is probably easier to work with and less conspicuous anyway, it works.
Yeah exactly, the GoPro is pretty much perfect other than the lack of zoom, and not the absolute best picture quality but pretty darn good, especially for the size and the price. The size is a huge factor for me, I want something small and discrete. And the stabilization with the 6 is excellent.
Wow 😍 I can remember this place from a Tamil movie song "nenjil nenjil" , such a nice looking place and well maintained !! Do they have any rules to paint in white Oly ?? or it's people's choice 😉
Hey Gabriel, the Ads before your videos, do you know if you get more revenue if I don't press ''skip'' after the initial 5 seconds? If I let the 30 second ad play in it's entirety? If so, next time I'll let the ad play till the end if that can help you get more revenue. Thanks.
From what I read, if I skip the ads, it actually gives your channel an up-vote (because it tells RUclips I want to watch your content right now) but will give me a downvote as a viewer and will force un-skippable ads on me once in a while. www.quora.com/If-I-skip-the-ad-on-RUclips-before-it-ends-does-the-advertising-company-still-pay-RUclips-for-it
I see. Well don't stress it either way. It's only a fraction of a penny per view. It adds up one way or another at the end of the month. I'll get specific in an upcoming video actually, I already filmed it.
Cool, glad to hear. I wish I'd remembered a few other words such as palakalo, kalimera, kalispera, etc. Maybe I'll drop them into other videos as they come to mind.
Love the colors on your new camera. Looks great. I thought i read you're headed to Eastern Europe next? I really want to check out Croatia. Safe travels.
I'm not talking about living cost or prices or weather... I'm talking about surprise, amazing place, emotions, etc... because you have a few experience about , at least, half the world, which is the place that you would like to return to spend a week with your partner? Exploring, relaxing, etc...PLEASE, keep up the good work (SIMPLE AND CLEAR)Big Cheers Gabriel from Portugal!!!
Check out Cappadocia, Turkey. One place I'd really like to return to. Problem is that Turkey is a bit sketchy right now so it would depend on the political situation, if it seems safe to travel there. Probably it's okay.
Bonaire had the same situation with empty houses in July which is the low season. It’s an island off Venezuela. In January, that would have been hopping.
Blue colour symbolizes the time when it was dominant once upon a time , similarly it can also found in india - meaning cultures of contemporary times .

I've always wanted to go to Mykonos! It looks like such a dream destination.
paul w i couldnt agree more. Just left the island this afternoon. It’s overrated for some reason we couldnt find
It looks to be made only for celebrities and for people who wants to be a celebrity and does EVERYTHING to succeed .

Everything's closed... February, totally offseason... but still represents the spirit of greek islands. Thanks, Gabriel! Keep it up.
Wow, Mykonos is truly beautiful!
You always do a great job on your videos Gabe. Traveling the world with you is
a pleasure. Keep up the great work!
What a great place...certainly the place to be a white paint supplier.
Hi Gabes! Again Greece,, you in love with Greek Islands?
Well, this time of the year seems really so peaceful/Quite. Nice 👍
Impressive. I love Mykonos. Spend a wonderful summer there in 06. In fact I still keep in contact with the hotelowner. You must go down and see the Little Venice region. I do feel that Mykonos lacks something without the crowds.
I like the videos just as is, it gives it a here I'am and this how it is feels to his videos.

So lovely
Love it when you’re in Greece. Makes me homesick for Athens; and I’m not even a local.
5:14 This is the central bus station of the Island. Here buses begin and end their journey to the famous beaches of the island.
It's been several years since I visited Myconos and I'm so surprised it hasn't changed. I was there during August so it was hopping then. The nicest people and the best food I've ever had in my life. It was very hard to leave.

Cool. I guess the town was specifically designed to confuse invaders attacking the island.
True. Cycladic villages were built like a labyrinth to confuse the pirates.
WoW!! Colored doors and white walls. Great shots!
Love your videos Gabriel, especially your greek ones as my family are Greek. I would recommend visiting Volos as it's an amazing Greek city. Looking forward to more content!
Great vlog, very clean and historical place.
I'm coming to Athens, Mykonos and Santorini in April, I can't wait! Would you tell us when was this?
This was filmed just a few days ago. April should be great, it will be warmer. Have a great trip.
Another great video Gabriel, however this time I was more impressed by your knowledge about Greek history.
as always a great video
Hartopetseta. Such a dramatic word for a napkin! LOL!
thank you for the wonderful walking tour i feel like i have been there
its amazing
I'd love to see you do Australia.
i liked Australia only thing i didn't like was the culture was too much the same as here in the UK
I'm not sure Australia's exotic enough for Gabriel, and fair enough if that's the case.
it can be depending where you are! it is enormous it's exotic up north Top end

Usually in places like that with villages or small towns, when it's around 1:00-4:00 PM, you don't see many people in the streets

Hi gabe ,place looks lovely and peaceful ,like the white homes all close together .hope you do your usual room tour .
A very clean, well-maintained town...everybody got a deal on white paint? The church at the end was colorful inside.
The blue and white buildings is typical of the Cyclades islands. In some areas it's actually required by law. I'm not sure if it's the law here or not but anyway it's the norm. Most of the Greek island villages in this area look the same.

So beautiful!
Thanks I always wondered what Mykonos actually looked like after only seeing Instagram pics of it 👏
I wonder if spring would be a good time to visit? Not so many people like summer, but more shops and restaurants open perhaps 🤔
Yeah that would be perfect, April and May would be pretty warm and not too crowded.

Yes, that's the plan, March or April. Good time for a break anyway.
