Autumn's Acorn Gathering is adorable! Sad that the squirrel ran over your foot and traumatized you. I love their fearlessness. My dad kept peanuts in his pockets and babies would use their wee claws to clamber up his pants when he was gardening to get to the shirt pocket with the peanuts. Pretty soon the grownups figured out this was perfectly safe and also ran over to get a treat. Later, when my dad was in a wheelchair, I hung a feeder at his main living room window and he loved watching his squirrels still getting their nuts and rooted for them over the blue jays. There were so many creatures on his acre, he said he was running a varmint preserve. lol

Don't sell yourself short! You are special! You are so down to earth. So many beautiful samplers to choose from! To figure out what samplers to stitch on, maybe you could use the thought process of paying off credit card debit - pay off the smallest to the largest. So for samplers, finish off the ones with the least amount left to do and work toward the ones with a lot to stitch.
Carol - You are more than a celebrity. You are a sampler authority! You are a mentor for what can be achieved. You have an eye for finding the most beautiful charts. Plus you are fun to listen to. Glad you had an unexpected fun retreat with stitchy friends.

Oh Carol, I absolutely enjoyed spending my Sunday morning with you! I'm trying to finish my Owl Forest Embroidery kit (I've been stitching monogamously on it since March) so that I can work on a sampler for September. It's right now a toss between Mary Snow from HATS (which may be the best choice since it's small), Jane Cowey (but I'm not looking forward to having to frog), OR the Virginia sampler from Heart's Ease. However, knowing me I'll end up not doing either of those lol.

Fabulous video Carol! Loved seeing all your WIPS and kitted future projects. I have been considering His Eye is on the Sparrow but have not yet been brave enough to tackle it! I too, have the "nagging brain" when I miscount and then find my mistake after the stitching is off....I know that I will NEVER be perfect, but I hear my mother's sweet voice in my ear saying the phrase she repeated to me many times through the years, "If the job is worth doing, it is worth doing well!" Sooooo, I wrestle with my mistake until I can't stand it any longer and I start frogging! I want my thoughts to be happy and proud of what I stitched instead of thinking of my mistake, every time I look at my finished piece. There have been a few times where I didn't catch my mistake until there was waaaay too much to frog, but I swallow my pride and leave it be, knowing I will be more careful with the next one. I love it when someone understands the "nagging brain" that I have! Have a wonderful end of August and see you in September!
Carol, you were the first ever flosstube that came up in my recommendations, shortly after you started. Without you I may never have known there was such a thing as a sampler wall -or smalls, or even flosstube! I have been stitching for 30yrs and samplers are my passion but I had kind of moved on to needlepoint cushions, back to some knitting, learnt to crochet because I didn’t know what I would do with any more samplers - until I saw your wall(s) and it was WOW, now I know!! You are an inspiration and you opened up a whole new world of stitching that I wasn’t aware of, here in the UK. Thank you for all you - and your husband - do to provide that for us. Hi Carol you definitely are a flosstube star and I so enjoy watching all of your wips and your finishes -I’m busy working on Sarah Fletcher and she is so so pretty. When I have a problem with the chart -I always make a working copy -so on the shiny paper I would go to Staples and have them print it out for you and also on the dark chart I would have it copied with as a slightly lighter copy. It does help a lot on the stitching -I wish you a great two weeks and looking forward to seeing you again happy stitching Cheers

I love Sampler September but to be honest I have so many wips... need to work on that! I don't have a lot of smalls stitched and this was going to be the year I did a bunch but just got into my sampler stitching and didn't look back : ) It's funny because I love Cross Stitch Antiques samplers and have a few kitted but no starts... maybe that will be my Sept. goal! thanks for sharing.
Hi, Carol! If you’re still deciding how to protect your chart, you could consider having it copied at staples or fedex and at the same time enlarge it. Usually when I do this I also paste together the pages so I have the whole chart and just fold to get to the part I’m stitching. Thanks for sharing

I spy with my little EYE!!! You are a celebrity as far as I'm concerned! I'm amazed by all the stitching you do! I guess I'm envious. My 81 year old eyes just won't let me stitch as fast as I once did, but I'm not complaining, cause God has blessed me with arthritis FREE fingers, and I simply take my time and enjoy every minute!! Oh Carol, I absolutely enjoyed spending my Sunday morning with you! I'm trying to finish my Owl Forest Embroidery kit (I've been stitching monogamously on it since March) so that I can work on a sampler for September. It's right now a toss between Mary Snow from HATS (which may be the best choice since it's small), Jane Cowey (but I'm not looking forward to having to frog), OR the Virginia sampler from Heart's Ease. However, knowing me I'll end up not doing either of those lol.

Fabulous video Carol! Loved seeing all your WIPS and kitted future projects. I have been considering His Eye is on the Sparrow but have not yet been brave enough to tackle it! I too, have the "nagging brain" when I miscount and then find my mistake after the stitching is off....I know that I will NEVER be perfect, but I hear my mother's sweet voice in my ear saying the phrase she repeated to me many times through the years, "If the job is worth doing, it is worth doing well!" Sooooo, I wrestle with my mistake until I can't stand it any longer and I start frogging! I want my thoughts to be happy and proud of what I stitched instead of thinking of my mistake, every time I look at my finished piece. There have been a few times where I didn't catch my mistake until there was waaaay too much to frog, but I swallow my pride and leave it be, knowing I will be more careful with the next one. I love it when someone understands the "nagging brain" that I have! Have a wonderful end of August and see you in September!
Carol, you were the first ever flosstube that came up in my recommendations, shortly after you started. Without you I may never have known there was such a thing as a sampler wall -or smalls, or even flosstube! I have been stitching for 30yrs and samplers are my passion but I had kind of moved on to needlepoint cushions, back to some knitting, learnt to crochet because I didn’t know what I would do with any more samplers - until I saw your wall(s) and it was WOW, now I know!! You are an inspiration and you opened up a whole new world of stitching that I wasn’t aware of, here in the UK. Thank you for all you - and your husband - do to provide that for us. I have a bazillion projects going all at once, but I love it. I think I may need to do a quilt WIP video to visit all my projects. Many of which I haven’t seen in literally years!

Hi Carol you definitely are a flosstube star and I so enjoy watching all of your wips and your finishes -I’m busy working on Sarah Fletcher and she is so so pretty. When I have a problem with the chart -I always make a working copy -so on the shiny paper I would go to Staples and have them print it out for you and also on the dark chart I would have it copied with as a slightly lighter copy. It does help a lot on the stitching -I wish you a great two weeks and looking forward to seeing you again happy stitching Cheers

I love Sampler September but to be honest I have so many wips... need to work on that! I don't have a lot of smalls stitched and this was going to be the year I did a bunch but just got into my sampler stitching and didn't look back : ) It's funny because I love Cross Stitch Antiques samplers and have a few kitted but no starts... maybe that will be my Sept. goal! thanks for sharing.
Hi, Carol! If you’re still deciding how to protect your chart, you could consider having it copied at staples or fedex and at the same time enlarge it. Usually when I do this I also paste together the pages so I have the whole chart and just fold to get to the part I’m stitching. Thanks for sharing
