    Is there a written pattern? I'm working on the nose. and the narration is different than what is printed on the screen. I'm on the row that has 2 SC in first Stitch, then a SC in the next 3 Stitches. On the screen it says to make 2 rows of SC around. But the narrations says it is time to start Decreasing. I see others have made this with absolutely no questions. I'm going to read further down in the comments.

  • @valerie9111

    I find crocheting the hat so difficult, I've tried so many tutorials but none simplifies it enough for me, I always end up with either less or more than is needed. I would just like to add I have crochet lots of garments but the gnome hat beats me every time and I really would love to make them.

    I read through the comments and found out about stuffing and gluing the hat on the cover, but I have another quick question, do you glue the main part of the gnome to the jar itself to make sure that it stays up? Super cute idea and pattern! Love it!

    • @CrochetTherapy
      @CrochetTherapy  3 года назад

      Hi Kim! I would keep increasing the bottom if the jar until it just covers the bottom, then continue up the sides. The hat can be made bigger by continuing around and adding increase stitches to keep it growing. Happy crocheting!! 🧶❤🧶❤🧶❤🧶

    • @CrochetTherapy
      @CrochetTherapy  3 года назад

      Hi there!! You could probably sew the nose to the hat, the only thing I'm not sure about would be the hat onto the lid. You could make the hat removable and just have it sit on the lid. I can't wait to see your results!!

  • @hollyphillips7597

    If you wanted to close the gnome up how would decrease it?!!

    • @CrochetTherapy
      @CrochetTherapy  Год назад

      If i wanted to close up the gnome by stuffing the body, I would just do a decrease stitch until the top is closed. The other option could be to thread a needle with yarn and run the needle through each stitch and pull to close. That would be super cute too.

  • @conike2

  • @ashtonground6009

    Love this gnome but mathematical design is wrong how if you increasing by 4 each time did you get to 18? (Row11) you go from 4 to 8 to 12 to18! Doesn’t make sense which really let me down as got frustrated with it in the end and gave up won’t be watching your videos again sorry

    • @CrochetTherapy
      @CrochetTherapy  2 года назад +1

      This is not a circle, math doesn't come into play with this design. With amigurumi designs such as the hat in order to get a certain look of the hat, row 11 instructs you to put 2 sc in every other stitch. Since we began with 12 stitches the next row would add 6 stitches which would equal 18. The gnome hat is not designed to be perfectly round. I hope you understand and thank you for reaching out.
