Sitting here, drinking some coffee, thinking “the framing looks fun and rewarding” and enjoying watch this garage come together…all the while dreading go to work on my kitchen remodel. It’s more fun watching other people work I guess! 😂😂 But great video as always!
I'm liking these compilation builds you're doing Ken! This was the build that was such a HUGE commute! You didn't show the stairs! That seems like a ton of money Ken! It sure looks nice. The crew was a pleasure to watch as always. Thanks for this Ken! Happy New Year!
I think that price is fully justified because it probably included the extra concrete walls and second floor which would have more than doubled the cost of traditional garage build. Full span "I" joist and traditional roof rafter framing with steeper pitch in order to create that open loft, all during the extreme lumber and material price gouging of the pandemic.
Ken, this one looks wonderful! I love the concrete wall that looks like stone and the dirt work on the sides and back. I do see one major issue, that is “it’s not sitting by my house on my property “!
The roof is strong after assembly. Great work. When you hand 🖐️ the keys 🔑 to the customer, do you give them the link to the video of the building? That’s the build. Thanks again for your sharing. Have a wonderful New Year.
Like always, I thoroughly enjoyed your video. While your construction skills are clearly top-notch, your video production skills are equally impressive. Thanks so much for your awesome content.
Hi. Next time you hinges up a wall like that, can you show us where the nails go in, I can't figure it out in my head, all i can see is the nail heads causing a gap as the wall sill turns onto the floor???.
Just wanted to comment on your wrist trouble. I started carpentering in my late teens and used a Estwing steel handle hammer until my late 30's and then I had to switch over to a wood handle hammer. Best thing I ever did , got away from elbow , wrist and hand pain. When I started we did not have air nailers at the time. Drove a lot of nails by hand.
Hi Ken, Love your work, there’s a thing I noticed from watching your videos and that is your stud configuration in the corners, there’s only one stud in the internal corner! How do you get fixing on the other side? Or don’t you worry about that?
since most of these garages are unfinished inside, it's not really a problem. OTOH, now that you mentioned it, I will be watching to see how the next few go up.
Hi Ken the garage looks killer I love it’s Sweet the top room I would use as my man shed its very versatile..The looks it’s got it good crew good boss that’s it cheers Boys take care ❤️❤️👍👍😀😆🦘🇦🇺
Do this videos with the prices in them include the building permits and inspections? I ask because I went to build a 16x20 one story garage and the building permit was 14K alone plus 100 for every inspection.
Only thing I would have done differently was to put the entry door on the right side of the garage where it appears more level next to the retaining wall.
The layout worked better on the left for them because they have a workshop on the left. When they drive in on the right they can easily get out of their door
Thaks for the tips. Heres a fact we all should be aware of. 2,300 children go missing each year in the USA alone. 2,300 x 365 = 839,500 Happy new year. "Give a man bread and circus and he will never revolt"

Haha. Get to work.
Thanks for following up. That month(s) delay drives everyone crazy. Damned weather!
I think this is one of your most attractive garages. Great job.
Thanks
Your not whining. It's good information to know. Thanks 😊
The one thing I noticed is the progress of Kyle. You men are teaching him well. really liked this video.
Thanks
Enjoyed watching this build. Lots of “extras” on this build.
Thanks
Ladders are not cheap but necessary. Love the start to finish.
Thanks
Out of all the building shows, yours is tops 😊
I like that one, be a nice tiny home, love the walk out basement type foundation
Thanks

Beautiful work from you and your crew Ken. Thank you for sharing. Happy New Year.
Thanks you too
You were in good humor for this one!
Haha thanks

Your patience with certain people is admirable haha
Thanks haha
That black roof looks really nice. I bet that adds a good ten degrees to the inside of that garage, though.
Not 10°
Einfach wieder super Arbeit von dir und deinen Arbeitern 👏🏻👍👋😁🙂😅🤗😊🇩🇪
Thanks
Man these garages are so nice if i had a bathroom and internet i wouldnt mind living in one lol
Haha thanks
Sure looks pretty. Great job guys.
Thanks for watching
Wow fantastic garage build 👍👍
Thanks
Building just down the road is pretty sweet
Great build!
Thanks

Thanks same to you
Wish you worked in north east Pennsylvania, what beautiful work you guys do 😎👌
Bummer thanks
Beautiful job guys
Thanks
Only advantage of pre-set bolt (if place correctly) you can start building when the concrete is too green still
Roof trusses are just cut and plate nailed on to hold? I'm stealing this for my greenhouse build!
Only us old-timers would catch the “Let’s go vertical, vertical,” reference to the late Olivia Newton-John.
Haha
Hi Ken great video. What was the cost of the concrete work? Thanks
Boy I don’t remember
Happy New Year!!
Same to you
amazing job ken wow
Thanks
Great work again. 👍
Thanks
Great job guys
Thanks
Happy New Year Ken. Would you like a little cheese with that wine sir? Good job keep it up
Haha thanks

Thanks I’ll try to show that
It was nice to see the build start to finish. The only thing that puzzeled me was why the man door was placed on the opposite side from the house.
It worked better on the left because that’s his workshop side. When he drives his truck in on the right side he can open his door to the larger area.
@@kenskarpentry Understandable now. Thank you. I really enjoy these start to finish videos.
Nice job. Any chance we could see it with the owner’s interior finish?

Thanks. My wrist problem is actually in my non hammering hand
ok that is good for that reason . Just thought I would give you a heads up if the problem ever arises in your hamming arm.
question; do you waterproof the foundation below ground level, or just rely on the drain system? Workmanship is top notch!
The site work guys did it.
typically we only damp proof living spaces
I may be misreading this situation, but, why put the people door farthest away from the home?
Absolutely love your work
Thanks
Looks marvelous, Cheers
Thanks
Hello new subscriber here .Could this be converted into a small home without having to change anything to the structure ? Thanks
Ken, I love your build videos! Thanks for showing the processes. Question: do the costs you post include labor or just material costs?
Thanks. Labor and materials
@@kenskarpentry appreciate the quick reply Ken. Thank you!
Thx for your videos 📹
Great build. Out of curiosity ... how much was the total project to include the site work?
I don’t have the numbers on a lot of it
Another Awesome build Ken what would be the cost of a 30x30 10ft walls
Just under $50k for a garage
@@kenskarpentry Thank You that helps out a lot

Does the $63,000 include Sitework, concrete, and retaining wall?
No. Concrete up
@@kenskarpentry Nice work. How many full crew days?
Happy new year Ken
Same to you
This is really what RUclips was made for
Thanks for watching
What stain and sprayer are you using Ken? Looks great.
Cabot stain
Have you ever built a hangar home? I'm looking to have a 40x50 cape style hangar with apartment above.
Interesting no I haven’t
@@kenskarpentry the only real difference I'd image is having a large enough garage door.

not sure which state you are in but i am looking same type garage/home. awesome job. regards
We work in northeastern Vermont
Do this videos with the prices in them include the building permits and inspections? I ask because I went to build a 16x20 one story garage and the building permit was 14K alone plus 100 for every inspection.
Wow that is horrendous. So sorry you had to pay that much

Great video! What brand of garage door do you recommend?
We use mostly Clopay
Q: Are the rafters joined at the peak with a lap joint? Thanks.
We use plywood gussets
@@kenskarpentry what kind of nails do you shoot in the gussets? Love your presentations btw! Thank you for all the great lessons.
Love it
PERFECT!!!!
Haha yes
Nice!
Thanks
If you put the anchor bolt in every 20 inches and you will be good lol
Nice حسن
Not sure if anyone asked already but what are the dimensions of this building?
It’s 24x24
What's the demention's of the garage?
24x24

Will you come to rochester ny and build me one?
Bummer sorry
Heck yes I like it wow

Sad for me that Southern Maine is out of the 60 mile range.
Bummer
@@kenskarpentry 137 miles exactly. I hate math lol. Id hire you tonight.
What roof pitch did you go with? Are the roof rafters 2x8 or 2x10’s?
12/12 pitch. 2x8
no i cannot see your red roof on your shop. I am red/green color blind.
Haha
