Previously compared S27 ETF to Amundi Prime US Fund
- Endowus has recurring 0.3% p.a. service fees while S27 does not have
- So the comparison between S27 and Amundi Prime US is quite clear
But, I was enlightened after I learnt about BlackRock iShares S&P500 fund (IE)
* Synthetic replication (BlackRock iShares fund): Uses derivative contracts to mirror index performance.
- No dividends, hence no withholding tax
- 0% WHT compared to Amundi Prime US
S&P500 yields around 1.34% p.a.
- For S27, 30% WHT = 30% * 1.34 = 0.4% p.a.
- Add S27 expense ratio 0.09%. Total cost = 0.49% p.a.
- For IE, Endowus FundSmart single fund service fee = 0.3% p.a., lower by 0.1% p.a.
- Add IE expense ratio 0.08%. Total cost = 0.38% p.a., savings of 0.11% p.a.
