  • The repercussions of a colonial past are still ever present among the aboriginal communities in Canada. Through her talk, "Canada’s State of Emergency and How We Can Protect our Collective Futures", Pamela Palmater speaks about the impact that the modern lifestyle has had on the environment and the way the hundreds of years of colonial history within Canada are still echoing today. She discusses solutions to moving together in solidarity with one another for a world that cares for the land, one another and future generations. Pamela aims to unroot the echoes of the past by shedding new light on matters concerning her research.

She completed her Doctorate in the Science of Law (JSD) at Dalhousie University Law Faculty in 2009. Her thesis is entitled: Beyond Blood: Rethinking Aboriginal Identity and Belonging. In addition, she holds a Master in Laws from Dalhousie University in Aboriginal Law, a Bachelor of Laws at the University of New Brunswick, and a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Native Studies and History from St. Thomas University in New Brunswick. I am 100% with the prof because she is for Canada and the First Nations, the state of affairs over the mistreatment of Canadian Aboriginal peoples cut a wound into my heart the size of Cooper Creek and I agree that there is no better politics than democracy rather than political fascism which may Indian Canadian Indian fought to free the world from in WWII even though I have an odium for all political ideologies since I prefer the words of Tribal Council, and nice acceso a la imagen professor.

Like a slum, all modern poverty is a design flaw created by political corruption, incompetence, idealism and other evils.
Pamela Palmater is the queen of conflation. She should be treated for the contempt she deservers.

    -Amazing speaker!
-We know something is horribly wrong with the status quo.
-We need healthy communities, a healthy earth...
-We must strive for much much better.
Idle No More! Let the Indigenous ppl of this land lead the way

"Canada is literally at war with it's own citizens" - if you cannot even get your opening statement factually correct, how can anything else you say have any validity?

Indigenous women are assaulted by indigenous men 90% of the time.. This is not the culture of Canada this is the native culture. You wane do some good?? clean up the behaviour in your community's.. and stop pretending like this isn't a native issue...The problem here is indigenous men hurting indigenous women.. and before all the haters start commenting on what I said I'm a quarter native and my mom was a status Indian..

There are no such a thing as quarter native! The same as there are no quarter Canadians. Blood quantum is an invention from Canada to get rid of First Nations. A Nation is based on culture & language.
Also most "Natives" are good people and agreed there are some bad one's but the same in all nation. As hopefully you know. The Supreme court of Canada has ruled that Métis, Non-Status and Status Indians are ALL indigenous. I agree with you that any man assaulting a woman or child should be punished to the maximum!
