Completely agree about the Cartier rings! My brother and his fiancé really wanted them for their wedding rings but decided to go to a jewellers like you said, had absolute replicas made - higher quantity of gold for a much cheaper price! X
Exactly ! I’m french ( but live in U.K.) and I feel like at home Ysl is seen a bit more like a classic compared to here but their vibe has changed a lot towards a “ rocky “ one so maybe older people don’t see the appeal .. I love it too ❤️ X

You are so right about the atmosphere, and sales associate makes the entire difference, I was looking to buy my first designer bag, and i was going into the stores to look at certain items. I first went into one Louis Vuitton store, the sales people followed me around like i was going to rob the place, and that i did not belong there it was extremely uncomfortable. I tried and again and went to the other store in the area, because i thought it might just be the one time/person went into the other store it was the same exact thing. I went around the corner in the same building to the Gucci store and ended up buying from them because they were so much more welcoming. That just puts a bad taste in your mouth, I love their designs but if i do get a LV , i think i will go second hand. I guess everywhere is different.

I have the LOULOU puffer bag in the small size and black hardware I'm highly recommending you it's so pretty, elegant, it goes with everything! You have the college one which is stunning but the loulou puffer is different and original from the classic loulou in my opinion.

I know you mentioned about buying Cartier for the name, and I absolutely agree. However, every single designer purchase is because of the name, as the worth of Louis Vuitton, Chanel, YSL, trainers, etc are all cheap to make. It’s around $180 to make a Louis Vuitton handbag and it retails for $1200... Hermes you will know hand craft their bag, with a production price of $750 and sells for 10k... While we all love the style of the designer piece and that’s why we buy it, the materials, the shape, the hardware etc, none of it is ever anywhere near what it costs to make the bag. It’s almost always bought because of the name, a physical representation of their life they want to put across, to highlight wealth that is associated with it etc.. It’s certainly an Interesting topic and when you mentioned the Cartier it definitely applied to almost every piece in the video. Your style is exactly the same as what I would go for, and I was suckered into buying the Dior sneakers in the low top version, and I also got very sore blisters and I’ve worn them three times and they are already marked. Exactly the same as you. Lessons learned! I feel the age of the designer handbag/shoe is coming to an end in the sense of every one has the same style of bag, with Instagram shops selling Dior sneakers, dupe/replica handbags that are absolutely identical to the real thing. If they are manufactured in an ethical way I don’t see the problem with it either, often the materials are exactly the same and there is no difference between the two. I’d like to know your take on it? I wish I had bought my sneakers that way now I look back as it was a complete waste of money. I have the Balenciaga triple S sneakers in the cream version and again, every influencer has them from Instagram shops that manufacture them there self. So interesting. Anyway! Had the triple s and ended up selling them because I’m short ( 5 ft 2 )and they looked ridiculous on me 😭 with joggers they looked ok ish but I would have looked like an actual clown with them on with cycling shorts for ex ! I’ve been collecting designer handbags (& shoes, accessories, etc.) for about 12 years, I somehow don’t have any YSL yet, you’ve convinced me to have a serious look at the college bag, I can see it as a great carefree everyday bag, YSL is well known for their leather. Edit: I personally agree that your first luxury purchase should be a bag that suits the style of the rest of your wardrobe, definitely avoid expensive trendy items unless you already have a decent collection, be careful with seasonal pieces, & avoid delicate leathers such as Chanel lamb skin (unless that is your absolute dream bag), because you will end up being scared to ever use the bag.
agree on Cartier, total rip off. No design or workmanship to that ring to justify cost, its so simple, i had a jeweler copy item in real gold so essentially identical to Cartier for 1/4 price. sorry not sorry :-)
I totally agree with your comments on Carter jewellery being overpriced. Tiffany is also overpriced. You are paying for the name and the content is lacking. I have a few of the Tiffany silver hearts and lockets. I bought the silver chains to hang them from elsewhere as they were way overpriced for a simple silver chain. Don't be ripped off people. You are right about the Chanel bags. Mass produced and not worth it anymore.

Just bought a chanel medium flap in black lambskin... I wear it very frequently (obviously because I am OBSESSED) but I'm already noticing the lambskin looking worn in, a stitch sticking out (not from use, not really sure why that happened) and it scratches so easily etc and over all is extremely high maintenance and delicate. Im 24 and probably should have invested in the caviar leather for longevity, but my god the lambskin is just WAY more beautiful and luxurious in my opinion.

My first designer handbag I went for the Louis Vuitton Pochette metis in black with gold hardware ... and I love it. Worn it so much over the past year. I’m worried about marking lighter coloured bags. I have the cream YSL collage and I’m so paranoid about ruining it. I’m sticking to the classics, but there are some beautifully different styles out there ... just not for me :) would love a Chanel but I can’t justify the price increase, maybe when I hit the jackpot! I find rudeness in the Uk as the standard most often. I cringe to hear luxury brands dont know what staffers they employ who are disrespecting high paying customers. America and Canadian sales employees are all about the red carpet experience for luxury products.
I bought my first YSL in Venice last year for my birthday. Thought I’d have a change from LV 🤷🏻♀️ I have the collage medium in a limited edition colour. It’s like a nude colour. I went with the Dior technical knit mid-top sneakers and they are amazing! So comfy, no blisters, and warm! I wear a thin tab-sock with them and my feet are toasty! Also, it’s a slip-in so no tying shoelaces Would highly recommend. Great video!
Hey! I work at a flannels store in the midlands and I’m so disappointed you had such a bad experience buying your triple S. My team at work are so warm welcoming and never judge any customers who come in. I have heard people say about bad experiences in other Flannels shops but I just wanted to say I hope people don’t judge us on other shop assistants mistakes and rudeness☹️ Also triple S are my favourite designer trainer and I LOVE when customers are interested in buying and want to try them on even if they don’t want to buy straight away as I understand it is a big purchase but worth it! 💘
I also bought my YSL college bag as my first designer purchase! 🤗 I did so much research and just keot falling in love with it more and more. Price was decent for the bag space that you get too, and you can catch it on discount! No regrets. Have used it so much for work and casually. I personally don't think its indestructible as mine definitely has corner wear and and anywhere on the edges that are exposed. I am not careful with it. It does rub against clothes/people/furniture. It does get thrown on seats or shoved into drawers. But after all that, for what I've abused it for LOL.. its in pretty good condition. No other damages besides corners and edges. So I def. agree if you know ypur style and you like something, just go for it! I only also figured out what types of bags I liked by trial and error while using the bags I have bought. So sometimes you have to take risks.
IKEA do amazing double seal plastic bags and I always put all my toiletries in them in my suitcase, they hold liquid tight so gives you peace of mind against leaks. Also, a good leather spray will prevent the dye from jeans transferring to your lighter leather. Sorry another comment, you’re paying for the brand with all of these items, trainers, bags, etc. so jewellery is no different, other than it will hold value better than a pair of trainers! x
That Burberry keyring is so cute! I have one of those (light-colored bear in beige trench) and I love it, I'd like to buy one or even two more. Punk bear looks cool, too.
Maybe try a chain top handle for the Gucci Dionysus bag that way you can wear it more and tuck the longer chain in the bag. Less color transfer chance and you can get really pretty gold chains or silver on Amazon or Etsy! 🤓
I get why those Gucci sliders will have killed your feet. There’s no ‘give’ in the sole so as you walk your foot lifts up the sole doesn’t and it doesn’t matter how soft the leather it will rub your foot. Those woven hessian type soles are terrible for that . They’re fab sandals but implements of torture!

I find rudeness in the Uk as the standard most often. I cringe to hear luxury brands dont know what staffers they employ who are disrespecting high paying customers. America and Canadian sales employees are all about the red carpet experience for luxury products.
I bought my first YSL in Venice last year for my birthday. Thought I’d have a change from LV 🤷🏻♀️ I have the collage medium in a limited edition colour. It’s like a nude colour. I agree with you it’s an absolutely beautiful bag. Very classic and the SA that served me was also absolutely lovely ☺️ bag is amazing quality and now I want the YSL small puffer too. I went with the Dior technical knit mid-top sneakers and they are amazing! So comfy, no blisters, and warm! I wear a thin tab-sock with them and my feet are toasty! Also, it’s a slip-in so no tying shoelaces Would highly recommend. Great video!
Hey! I work at a flannels store in the midlands and I’m so disappointed you had such a bad experience buying your triple S. My team at work are so warm welcoming and never judge any customers who come in. I have heard people say about bad experiences in other Flannels shops but I just wanted to say I hope people don’t judge us on other shop assistants mistakes and rudeness☹️
Also triple S are my favourite designer trainer and I LOVE when customers are interested in buying and want to try them on even if they don’t want to buy straight away as I understand it is a big purchase but worth it! 💘
I also bought my YSL college bag as my first designer purchase! 🤗 I did so much research and just keot falling in love with it more and more. Price was decent for the bag space that you get too, and you can catch it on discount! No regrets. Have used it so much for work and casually. I personally don't think its indestructible as mine definitely has corner wear and and anywhere on the edges that are exposed. I am not careful with it. It does rub against clothes/people/furniture. It does get thrown on seats or shoved into drawers. But after all that, for what I've abused it for LOL.. its in pretty good condition. No other damages besides corners and edges. So I def. agree if you know ypur style and you like something, just go for it! I only also figured out what types of bags I liked by trial and error while using the bags I have bought. So sometimes you have to take risks.
IKEA do amazing double seal plastic bags and I always put all my toiletries in them in my suitcase, they hold liquid tight so gives you peace of mind against leaks. Also, a good leather spray will prevent the dye from jeans transferring to your lighter leather. Sorry another comment, you’re paying for the brand with all of these items, trainers, bags, etc. so jewellery is no different, other than it will hold value better than a pair of trainers! x

Any light leather bag worn with dark clothes will pick up color transfer... if you don’t want that don’t wear dark colors or wear a white bag...

Maybe try a chain top handle for the Gucci Dionysus bag that way you can wear it more and tuck the longer chain in the bag. Less color transfer chance and you can get really pretty gold chains or silver on Amazon or Etsy! 🤓

I get why those Gucci sliders will have killed your feet. There’s no ‘give’ in the sole so as you walk your foot lifts up the sole doesn’t and it doesn’t matter how soft the leather it will rub your foot. Those woven hessian type soles are terrible for that . They’re fab sandals but implements of torture!
don't buy from rude customer service assistants so they don't get any commission on what you're buying for expensive things!
