Perhaps Ghost was a fitting name for James! He will haunt Tariq because he is now literally a ghost! Or is he?(wishful thinking). Its interesting that Tariq will feel pressure to live up to his father's name. In my opinion, he didn't know his father as much as he thought he did, but what he will learn will surprise him and he'll go deeper into regret!

I think all of these spin offs are going to eventually lead to Ghost coming back. Cause they showed Angela's body, but if they don't show Ghost, then I think Mary J. Blige's character is just a proxy for Ghost trying to give himself more time to mete out his enemies and for him to teach Tariq the real game without him there. Remember, the will was changed last minute. Not only for Tariq to finish a degree, but for Angela's sister to have a piece of it all too. Considering they were gonna see him as a suspect due to his involvement with Angela, this was the perfect escape plan. I think in Book V: Force, Ghost is going to take control of things politically and illegally, but still stay in the shadows with not only Mary J. Blige's character as a proxy, but also Tariq as one as well. Hell, i wouldn't be surprised if they are respectfully given the names Banshee and Wraith.
great trailer but my biggest problem with the show has to be the writing first trying to make ghost the bad guy towards the end of power for no reason and having his son kill him for no good reason and nothing to really even build it up. Now making it seem like the world knows Ghost was a killer. Makes no sense he was acquitted with the greg thing and the night he died he was a politician and all they had to accuse him was the word of a discredited and dead witness Dre
I went back to rewatch Power. Ghost was definitely the villain of Power. Dude left his family to be with Angela. Tariq kept asking Tasha what was going on with his dad during Season 1. Ghost created the monster that was Tariq.

Not sure why it didn't happen but I'm sure this was used to create Method Man. This also brings me back to the fact that Ghost may have changed his name. No one seems to know who he or his family is and how he was connected to the streets.
I also think that Kane is Kanan's son. The names are too similar. I can foresee something happening to Mary J's character and Kane running the streets. He already seems unhinged and dangerous. He seems like a wild dog that Mary J controls. This would put Tariq and the crew in danger and Tariq will have to make the choice to kill him just like his dad and Kanan killed Breeze or send him away like Ghost did Kanan.
Naw i think that narrative is a miss direct. Tariq's journeys about living in his fathers shadow then he will make his own path. But i believe since ghost was the ultimate mastermind, he might had one last play that he left behind to show us and tariq that he still not there yet

Ghost's father was apparently a heavy drinker,according to tommy back in season 2,ghost around season 4 starts drinking heavily after raina's death,then we see it again in the season 6 finale of power... in episode 10,we learn that ghost's father,in order to protect ghost,tried to call the cops on some drug dealers(maybe kanan or breeze),in episode 9 ghost tries to protect tariq and yaz from getting involved with the street life,by calling the feds to investigate Tasha's day care,for smuggling drugs. james at tariq's age killed breeze because he was in the way of his future,tariq kills ghost for being in the way of his future. ghost and tommy at a young age,learn the drug game and the streets from kanan,tariq at a young age learned about the streets from kanan,etc..
Not excited for this one at all. I'll check it out though, something to watch while counting down to the ones I really want to see. Can't wait for Kanan and Tommy spin offs though. I hope one of them will come shortly after this season ends for this one.

So they are making Tariq the new Ghost. They had to give him a reason to start hustling again.
Also when 50 was talking to Lil Wanye he mentioned that he had a friend that was street but ended up going to law school. Their plan was to open a check cashing spot. Not sure why it didn't happen but I'm sure this was used to create Method Man. This also brings me back to the fact that Ghost may have changed his name. No one seems to know who he or his family is and how he was connected to the streets.
I also think that Kane is Kanan's son. The names are too similar. I can foresee something happening to Mary J's character and Kane running the streets. He already seems unhinged and dangerous. He seems like a wild dog that Mary J controls. This would put Tariq and the crew in danger and Tariq will have to make the choice to kill him just like his dad and Kanan killed Breeze or send him away like Ghost did Kanan.

Naw i think that narrative is a miss direct. Tariq's journeys about living in his fathers shadow then he will make his own path. But i believe since ghost was the ultimate mastermind, he might had one last play that he left behind to show us and tariq that he still not there yet
@@Judah-144 I noticed after re watching the show again, how the show was basically telling us how ghost became who he is through tariq,because of the parallels,ghost's father was a nightclub owner or bar owner just like ghost was,his father tried to get james to turn his back on the streets,he refused to listen then ghost pops dies,and he had to fend for himself,Ghost tries to get tariq to turn his back on the streets,tariq refused to listen,ghost is dead,so now tariq has to fend for himself,while his mom is in jail...
Ghost's father was apparently a heavy drinker,according to tommy back in season 2,ghost around season 4 starts drinking heavily after raina's death,then we see it again in the season 6 finale of power...
in episode 10,we learn that ghost's father,in order to protect ghost,tried to call the cops on some drug dealers(maybe kanan or breeze),in episode 9 ghost tries to protect tariq and yaz from getting involved with the street life,by calling the feds to investigate Tasha's day care,for smuggling drugs.
james at tariq's age killed breeze because he was in the way of his future,tariq kills ghost for being in the way of his future.
ghost and tommy at a young age,learn the drug game and the streets from kanan,tariq at a young age learned about the streets from kanan,etc..
