Next time I have a miss at the range, I'm going to laugh and claim a dancing pink elephant got into my head and it's your fault. Love the videos and insight, you have greatly improved my weekend hobby level shooting. Much love from America
Thank you for all your time and effort you put into these vidios also field sport & gamebore .I started shooting after retirement (70) for first time , I am a member of a small clay club local to me , after watching these vidios I replicate at my next outing and I am improving slowly to my own satisfaction. Ps I shoot gamebore also.
I can listen to Ben give tips and provide excellent coaching all day! Ben is so articulate when he speaks about sport shooting. Thanks for the great video!
Hi Ben, first of all, thank you for taking the time to make these videos and by the way Awesome job ;o) It's been 8 years since I last shot and i have many voices on my shoulder but listening to what you have just explained and how to execute may just have saved me a lot of time wasted doing the same old routine of grabbing the gun and hoping i will do better today. now i have a footing to start to build on. Once again thank you for your time and knowledge, Ben.
Staging, staging, staging.. I compete in IDPA and one thing helped me over the years of competition is to stage your run. I take a minute and visualize myself running the stage and plan my run accordingly, where to stop, when to reload, angle to tackle the targets array, etc.. It is easier to do what you already know what to do.. Recently I am spending more time at the sporting clay range and I am using the same technique to stage my pairs.. In sporting clay we can do that type of planning, but there is a small club where I shoot 5 stand and they change the routine every week and no staging throws are allowed. I love the challenge as you have to stage or try to stage the throws from watching other shooters on their stations.. it keeps your mind sharp, it is similar to laying cards where you have to memorize what cards have been already thrown on the table and what is left to deal with.. Too bad when I started enjoying the clay games, ammo prices are shooting up the roof and limiting my playing time..
Thanks for another great video. I will be taking the example here and make it part of my pre-shot routine. Thanks to Gamebore, Fieldsports for sponsoring it. Thanks to Ben for clear instructional techniques for improvements. Jim-Georgia-USA

Help me out, I'm newish to the sport.
"method" can be 1 of the 3 points of focus in the pre-shot routine. What are the possible methods that could be applied to the shot?
Have a look at the rest of our 'Smokin Targets' series on RUclips. / Charlie
What ear plugs are you wearing Ben?
Came here looking for advice on the best way to change a 5 into a 6.
4:57 trigger discipline???
I’ve the gut feeling that there are seven steps to last around 10-11 seconds. What would be the seven steps for a single ?
What about : Pre-shooting routines for a single
- [ ] 1 feet position
- [ ] 2 & 3 first cartridge: 2 + important des 3 (method, speed, lead)
- [ ] 4 Second shoot point
- [ ] 5 First shoot point
- [ ] 6 First hold point
- [ ] 7 View point
Thats funny, always put the rest live Shell from second barrel Into First. Everybody call
Me Crazy
The student is mounting the gun before seeing the clay???
Thsts fine
How to prepare for shooting ? get a pencil and a rubber "to make sure you are well trained"
You should never point a gun at someone period! No matter what wow basic gun safety!
Talking like a fool
I guess you shouldn’t clean your gun either because that would involve pointing it at yourself.
Ben why not apologize for CHEATING in USA
Ben good but little pushy i like instinctive hes to complecated but his great ides on gun fitting is good and he means well dont have a clue why he puts upvwith the over the top gun laws i suppose its all brain washing
Weird how the best in the world all do it the same. You tend to find people that don’t understand shooting find it complex
