The man literally thought the answer of atonement is that he should hunt down a mysterious orb that he has no clue about but slight tomes he glimpsed at and absorb it, blow himself up for a past jealous and spiteful lover who tells him that it's the only way for anything to work out in the end, if he finds a book of Karsus he will decide that he should become a God in spite of her, and finally he jumps to wanting to give her the crown of Karsus that gives a capability to become a God because she says that it must be so. He may have good dad jokes on unlock, but I worry for the advice he would give any child. I worry for any of them to give advice to a child. They're sweet, but not the most street-smart at moments. Even Halsin, he thought to charge into a Castle of Goblins without knowing the numbers, recruit any druid who comes to his camp, leave his druid camp in the hands of a stranger, absolve the druid of her crimes saying that she did not know better when it would be best to remove her from the forest or imprison her to care for the others through the shadow's forest arc. Shadowheart, Astarion, and Laezel would tell the child to murder/ assassinate them. Wyll and Jaheira would tell them to fight everyone. Karlach would probably be the most sane parent in the camp other than telling them to trust nobody because everyone is out to get them. Funnily enough, she was the only one who seemed to grow up with some parent figure (not like noble familes who raise their children like cattle to carry on the name), unless I missed some dialogue with other characters.

Don't worry about it. There's no rulebook that says you *have* to be kissing by 13 or having sex by 16, and it doesn't mean your life's gonna be miserable if you don't do things by the same age as other folk. Better to walk your path at your pace instead of trying to run someone else's.

Have to admit to find it fascinating seeing so many women ignoring how very clearly queer coded Astarion is, and imagining a man who makes every effort to suggest he is flamboyant and uninterested in women, would make the exception for their tav. I mean, obviously in the game any and all characters can be pansexual as the game sort of panders to fit what the player wants regardless of whether it would make sense for the character (Lae’zel can be romanced by non-githyankis even though she very clearly is bigoted against all non-githyankis), but IRL if a woman meets a man who is as foppish and effeminate as Astarion, that is usually his attempt to subtly indicate to the world that he is not interested in women- so those who would pursue him might also be the type to constantly get unrequited crushes on their gay best friend in theater camp. This is of course speaking in generalizations. I know plenty of bisexual and even straight men who are fairly effeminate (myself being one of them), but it does seem like women would at least subconsciously pick up on the clues and avoid heart break by seeking out someone who seems less likely to sit them down and explain that they see them as just a friend.
Also very rude of me to write all of that while failing to mention just how outstanding this animation was. Expressions , subtle looks, everything was done to perfection and the artist should be incredibly proud of themself.
