How did they come up with it😂
So if any one was wondering how this was done the method was very simple.
1. Get Craig to stand on top of the hole on the back of the box. you can see that his legs are on the side at 8:40
2. assistant climes though said hole and stand in front of Craig ready to put there hands in the locks.
3. Craig drops down to the hidden compartment at the base of the illusion. In fact you can even see the exact moment he drops down by the wires at 8:43
4. After the fake locks are put on the wrists of the assistant. ready to be slipped out at any time.
5. Craig sneaks though the front of the contraption into the stairs and as carried off by the assistants wearing black and likely runs to the balcony when the rest of the trick plays out.
6. After the showmanship with the hands the saws crash down, the magician runs to the aid of "Craig" and lifts the front of the box as the hands free themselves.
7. When the magician struggles to lift the front of the box the assistant simply went into the same box Craig did earlier staying there for the remainder of the trick .
Overall I liked the trick. The showmanship was excellent and Craig only having a short amount of time to do it was impressive so all credit to them.
Some f these comments about his wife aren't nice at all.

Michael is great. He's just a fun and funny guy who knows how to entertain an audience and keep people laughing and enjoying the show.
Brave man for accepting the challenge! He made impressive short shrift of those locks but they didn't really test his talents in the final, but he had no idea what he was in for when they asked him if he would accept the challenge.

That was so entertaining. And what a beautiful couple. He actually does look like the James Bond of locksmiths.
For anyone wanting to know how this trick is done, it is very simple. Before he enters the box, there is already another magician inside, hiding behind the black backdrop. As soon as the front panel was in place, he simply swapped places with the magician. It is that other magician's hands is what we see and not Craig's hands. Craig then slipped away from a section of the stage not seen by the audience, and made his way to the box for his final wave. The magician in the box escaped but the nice part is only his hands are pushed through the black backdrop, the remaining of his body is protected by the black backdrop, and with precise timing he knows when to pull his hands in before the blades reach the box. All the risk is on the magician and not Craig. I have seen this trick done so many times, and this is the answer.
I mean it’s a pretty basic trick tbh, I guess better in person but yeah it just seemed a bit obvious even without your brilliant explanation. Wondering if the original idea was a bit more complex but that Craig not being an illusionist/magician just wasn’t prepared for. He’s a locksmith, not a performer.

+Gutted77 oh god sorry, yes we had a bit of the Saville story here in Scandinavia when story first blew too. None of my family friends here had any clue who he was at all. Didn't get anything on Rolf Harris here though. Odd though, last I saw him, was live at Glastonbury the summer before moving away from Uk. I know my remarks might sound a bit ignorant and sorry for that, I mean we are a not a million miles away from England either, but to give the perspective on my ignorance, my big surprise when I moved over here was to suddenly rediscover the alcoholic TV chef Keith Floyd who seemed to have disappeared from public sight long before I left UK, and was the marketing star of all the daily Tulip Bacon adds here! Oh, and Hiyacynth Bucket! So you never quite know what's going to follow you or present itself from back home when you emigrate abroad. Cheers for the update friend. Take care, :-).

I don't get it...thought this show was about giving people the chance to live their dream of performing on stage. I feel disappointed for him because he didn't actually do anything.

That was a rubbish trick. I'd have been really impressed if they got him a series of locks to pick as quickly as possible, but since this is a magic trick, we know that none of his lock picking skills were used at all. What a waste, this was his time to shine and he ended up a stooge :(

I have a good friend that is a master illusionist.He has entertained Millions.He was Universals' head of HAlloween in Orlando Florida. He now is working his magic at Disney. He invited me to his show.He showed me many things. My mind was blown. But he did not trick with a drone that to this day I have NO clue how he did it. I seen him do this trick. And it is all Illusion.

Those locks were pretty easy to pick to be honest. Cheap shit 3 lever mortice and a 4 pin Masterlock. Not a challenge at all.

No. It was an escape through the bottom of the contraption, with another person hidden in there to provide the hands.

they were fairly easy locks though. The first was a lever lock, second probably a "Master" (brand) lock by the looks of it, which are not very hard to pick in to.

No offense but I bet even I can do his job lol. There is no special skill required for this trick let alone the locksmith stuff.
He had a special time and it's all good and fun, but isn't it kinda missing a point of the show...? What I witnessed is basically an ordinary magic show with a random participant from the crowd.
