Planning a trip up in a few weeks and have tied a few of the SR Gift. Was wondering if you or someone else has tied in other colors and variations and had success w/ these varaiations ?
Sorry, but I don't remember. I can tell you that I have been told by many anglers who have tied the fly that a substantial number of fish have been hooked over the years.

A youngster on the river gave me this fly after I helped him net the fish. Few casts in .. fish on !!

Dead with swing at the end. Hold in current for a second or two before pickup.

Nice fly! I did not recognize the hook you used: Tiemco 206BO?? What hook did you use? And what coud be the alternative hook?
