Nitro funny car making a serious 1000' blast @ Famoso Raceway @ Saturday Night Nitro September 6, 2014. We normally only get nostalgia nitro cars, so it's a treat for the eyes (and some punishment for the ears) when somebody makes a pass with a modern-day top fuel car. The time wasn't all that impressive (high-five-second run at 225mph), but I think the guys in the tower may have left the lights set up for a 1320' run and the big-show cars shut off at 1000'; so the ET and MPH may have been recorded after he was coasting for 320'. Regardless, it was still a good blast!

After checking it out on Windows Movie Maker (where it can be viewed frame by frame), this 1000' foot run took about 4.17 seconds, definitely more like 300 mph than the 225 mph displayed by the lights.
