Your Jeti clinic make us forget the rain😁. But on modes for the receiver, do we need a 3 postion switch? Can it recognize a mid value or is it "zero to heading hold"? Love your good work for us dinosaurs😉.
Hi Harry Thank you for your answer appreciate it. I have been following your assist video and actually applying it to my 12channel. Well I have another question- when I assign the gyro gain to a rotary nob it only shows +- 50% in the servo monitor and not 100% like your videos. Any thoughts?
G'day Harry, just in the process of setting up our REX12 Assist with RCPS10 RC Switch. How easy do you .make it ❤ thank you. Regards Stefan and Annette Karotkavitch
Hi Harry, thanks for doing all of these Jeti videos I have followed all your episodes on the Assist I have a REX6 Assist and DS-16 everything is working appart from the rudder gain on slider P5 it has no effect on the control. I have tried using other channels such as 7 & 8 but the gain control appears to be fixed in the 'airplane settings' following your instructions aileron on P8 and elevator onP7 are working fine with them set to minimum hardly any noticable change as you would expect. Currently the only way I can change the rudder gain is via MODEL - DEVICE EXPLORER - REX6A - CONFIG - AIRPLANE SETTINGS. Any thoughts on what could be wrong, it is a new REX6 and I checked it has the latest firmware loaded. Regards Paul
Make sure you have assigned a channel for rudder gain in the transmitter Channel Assignment, that the Assist is seeing it when you assign gain channels in the Assist
Hi Harry, I'm confused in Basic Properties on the wing settings. What setting should one use if the ailerons are on a Y harness. The minimum setting I can find is 1 Flap 2 Aileron. On my Spektrum NX10 I have a 1 Flap 1 Aileron option. As a first model I'm using my FMS BAE Hawk and will remove the Reflex System. Presumably for Gear I select a 2 position switch.
Good Morning Harry, I have a new DS-12 Transmitter with 8 Channels. It's got the "Basic" configuration. I'm using your RUclips tutorials to learn how to program it. If I want to use my REX7 Receiver's Gyro in an airplane that requires 7 Channels (it's got two flaps and two ailerons), what added features will I need before I can use the Gyro?
The receiver sees and uses all the channels that the Tx sends. The number on the Rx, for example REX 7, just means the number of servo sockets. So you can use channel 8 to adjust the gain.
If I need 7 channels for control of the movable surfaces of the model and one to turn the Gyro on and off then won't I need an additional channel for the Gyro Mode Switch? Or is the Gyro Mode Switch something that is optional? Since I only bought the Basic DS-12 Transmitter configuration my Transmitter only has eight channels.
With one channel you can only do one feature - gain, or mode, or on/off. All of them are optional. However you want to tune the gain, and imo you absolutely must be able to switch the gyro on and off. But you can use mixing to send gain to minus 100% which is effectively off, (it isn't totally off but residual gain is so tiny it is not an issue) so you can adjust gain and have an off switch on one channel.
@@cotswoldpilot Thanks again for your help. I've decided to buy an extra four Transmitter Channels for the cost of $22 US Dollars. That way I can set up my Transmitter exactly like you did on yours in this Tutorial. I think the extra channels would be worth the money since I'm getting into scale airplanes and they should probably have Heading Stabilization on a Landing Approach because the Retractable Landing Gear is more delicate. I still have to learn the best time to use each of the Gyro Modes.
Stupid question If I have a master gyro on/off switch Why do I need to have different gyro modes if the gyro will be assisting it when master is on and not assisting when off. Do you really need different gyro modes?
Hi Harry ! Do your assist videos also apply if I have all my servos connected through the exbus port ? Im using a standard DS12. I am asking this because I have reached this step, on EP3, where I have to assign Servo functions but I only have 8 for the standard DS12 and all of them are used by servos and igntion ( 2 Ailerons, 2 Elevetors, 1 Th, 1 Rudder, 1 Ignition and 1 Smoke pump ). Am I doing something wrong or am I supposed to update my Tx with the 12ch option ? Thanks !
Hi Harry Hope you are well. I’ve been watching the assist video and i am attempting to update my assist 12 channel. So when I plugged it in to the Jeti studio it said the version that it had is 1.13 but the Jeti studio only offers 1.12 just like in your video. I guess my question is do I update it to 1.12 like you said or keep it ar1.13? Cheers Ron You can email me at ron@rdphotostudio.com
Well, you could just set the middle position on your switch to off. Saving a switch for other another function if needed. Way to complicated with 3 rotary switches. But that’s up to the user. Great job regardless.
A separate on/off switch is very necessary if you want 3 gyro modes, is very necessary if you use a switch with another function for example retracts to switch gyro modes, is very necessary if you use a particular 2 position switch as the on/off for your other brands of gyro.
Yet again Harry you've rbeen invaluable in helping me with programming my DS-12 so thanks and keep the tutorials coming.

Hello Harry Happy Holidays. I want to set up my flaps on my DS12 in my flight modes. Do you have any video on that. Thanks as always Lou

1 flap 2 aileron. In servo assignment just reassign the channel with Aileron2 to something else, or ignore it.
@@cotswoldpilot Many thanks. Perhaps I'll remove the Y harness so I can use differential - useful practice perhaps.
....actually I can't do that because I only have 6 sockets and I have gear.

If you have 8 channels all used, you have no channels for the gain, mode or master switch

Leave it at 1.13. Jeti sometimes installs slightly newer firmware at the factory quite some time before releasing it on Studio.

In Gyro mode you can set 2x a gyro mode and 1=off, so a mode on/off is not nessesery. because you can set him off allready whit mode switch
