Hello and welcome my friends and Kabayan! Today, I'll show you how I planted potatoes in pots and harvested an impressive 8.3 kilograms.
Potatoes are remarkably resilient plants and can thrive in almost any location with plenty of sunlight and adequate water. Even if my gardening space is limited or I only have a balcony, I don't have to forgo the joy of growing my own potatoes. There are numerous ways to cultivate them.
One tried-and-true method for space-efficient potato cultivation is using planting pots. However, planting potatoes in regular pots is also a viable option. The crucial factor is ensuring that the container has drainage holes at the bottom to prevent excess water buildup.
I'll also demonstrate how to grow potatoes in shopping bags. This technique yields remarkable yields in a small space, and I'll share the tricks to encourage the potato plant to produce multiple layers of tubers.
Whether you choose to repurpose old planting soil bags or use bags made of woven material, my step-by-step guide will walk you through the process. You'll witness how the potato plant in the bag grows vertically, continuously forming new tubers along its stem.
