I'm on twists. My twistologist is bomb. Tailbone length is what I'm going for but whatever. Healthy over everything. I saw your old twist journey. Congrats on the locs. They are beautiful.
Great update video Alicia, I have 3a/b hair and your video along with Tanish Fortson Q&A update video has helped me decide between starting my locs with two strand twists or micro braids... the hands down winner is microbraids to reduce the slippage. Thanks!
Alicia!!! Girl those locs are doing their thing!!!! I know the slippage issue is problematic. It's gonna happen in the beginning. Braiding and banding is necessary as you discovered. And I tend to sweat badly especially in summer. It's awful but get those hair friendly headbands and loose buns and you'll be fine!!! Best decision EVER club!! You got this!!!
You are giving me so much hope ! I keep seeing under your comments that retesting gives a certain look cab you please explain what look does it give ? And I also was wondering do you have a grid
So wait aren’t these considered sisterlocs? The micro locs I see on here are usually bigger and the sister locs looks more like yours. I thought there was a difference
Hi, I’m no expert, but I know that Sisterlocks is a patented loc’ing system that emphasizes a specific grid pattern(loc parting). You can’t DIY Sisterlocks the way you can microlocs. Microlocs can be started, maintained, and sized any way an individual desires. Especially as they mature, Sisterlocks and microlocs can look very similar.
Can someone explain what bunching is, with regard to microlocs? Also how is banding done for washing microlocs? I think I might know, but would love an exact explanation.
Bunching is when your hair scrunches up together in the locking process. It kinda looks like the texture of butterfly loc extensions. There’s nothing wrong with it but most people want their locs to look consistent in shape/diameter down the entire length of the loc.

Thanks for the update. They look really beautiful!! 😍😍
Do you get any locs marrying? That’s the only thing annoying about my microlocs besides that I have zero complaints. Best hair decision ever

Your hair looks beautiful!
Do you re-twist your braid locs? I am considering doing braided microlocs and my hair is very fine as well

@@afrikurl - Thank you for the explanation.
Too bad my edges are so thin or I would have tried locs a long time ago. Not a good look on a receding hairline :(
What is your curl pattern? Or was before you loc’d
You can see from her older videos on her channel :) I’d say a mixture of type 4 though.
Hi! What is slippage?
Your texture is so fineee, you are really courageous to be maintaining such tiny locs on such fine hair
beautiful!
