You can have fun for free or little money, many of us didnt grow up with much, but our parents made our childhood wonderful. You can have picnics in the chicago parks, visit the museums and zoo, ride bicycles too. But a little money helps. Shame there are no outdoor theaters anymore . 6:12 + play sports in the parks , fly a kite , a drone , badminton etc. Take your dog. Go fishing , oh the Art Institute is for free , admission is advisable , suggested

My guy & I have been to Chicago once before in October. We pretty much went everywhere you mentioned except for 2 places. I'm going back in a few weeks with my daughter for her birthday. The few things that were free that weren't mentioned that were a must-see for us were Oak Street Beach & Buckingham fountain. Both were free. The beach was amazing & I'm looking forward to seeing the fountain on as it wasn't on in October. We're excited to see the city in the summer. Loved your video. You two are great together & the video was informative & fun to watch.

@alvaroquijano579 The weather was in the upper 50s the whole 5 days we were there. It rained the whole last full day, but there are plenty of indoor activities in Chicago. I was just in Chicago a few weeks ago. I couldn't get to Grant Park to see Buckingham Fountain because the park was closed for Lollapalooza. The Bean will also be closed for a while for reconstruction around that area of Millennium Park. How long are you staying?
i thought about visiting oct 13-17. not sure what the weather is going to be like. never been to chicago during fall@@mscatledge1

I realize this is a video about free activities to do in Chicago. I am curious about the food. Chicago is known for its pizza and hot dog. Did you have time to indulge? Or are you planning to explore Chicago cuisine on your next visit? If you already have a video about the food scene, please tell me and I will look for that video.

The food in Chicago was delicious. I, personally, didn't really like the deep dish pizza & didn't have the Chicago style hotdogs, but I enjoyed everything else we ate.
It's your lucky day. Peaquads sucks, it's for tourists. Same with Gino's east, and Giordano's is OK at best. Take the Metra electric down to a town called Homewood, and go to a place called aurelios. Get their thin crust pizza. Just get the biggest one you can, trust me on this. And load it up with whatever toppings you want. If you want the deep-dish just get a medium. A close second for best chicago pizza is beggars, beggars will also blow you away. Then there's the weiner circle, but that's kind of specific. Go there at midnight, slip them 20 bucks, age ask for a chocolate shake. Last but not least, in the south suburbs, there's a tiny, greasy spoon called perros bros. Which will have the best gyros, and ribs you've ever had in your life. If you scare easy go to the one in Matteson, if not go to the one in chicago heights. Lastly, just south of Lincoln hwy about 2 miles is a tiny shack next to eagle liquors in Chicago heights. Get a deep fried tamale from them. Don't be scared, you'll probably be fine.

We didn’t have any negative experiences during our stay. We know that one should always be aware of their surroundings everywhere even at home….buttttt let’s get back to focusing on how fun this video was and how positive the vibes are. Literally had a great time and ate some good food here. 🤌🏾✨😎

@@peterduerr4154 Lots of opportunities out there brother. During Covid tons of people quit their jobs and moved to places they always wanted to live. Not sure what’s holding you back and keeping you somewhere you’ve announced you don’t want to be BUT stay positive. Remember, if you can see it in your mind, then you can hold it in your hand. 💯. Stay focused and set your priorities and you’ll be and do anything you want. Stay blessed and keep the faith. We have faith you can do it.🙂

While it's less well known, the Garfield Park Conservatory is both much larger and quite a bit nicer than the one in Lincoln Park. As a bonus, it's just steps from the 'L'.
Two other things I'd suggest are browsing through the old Marshall Field's store (the loop Macy's). You can spend an hour there admiring how beautiful the store is without spending a dime. Another fun thing is just riding around on the 'L' (technically not free, but just $5 for a day pass). Going around the loop and out on the elevated lines provide nice views of the city. I especially like the pink line on the near southwest side and the brown line going northwest.

Stay off the pink line after 7, everyone is getting out of county, and 2/3 of them will be on the pink line.

I grew up a few blocks from the Conservatory. I would like to visit the Lincoln Park one, since I live in Uptown now. I think both are cool. but the Garfield one will always have a place in my heart.

Sure, great question. We were on a short visit here for 2 1/2 days. We can’t wait to go back and see more of the sights we missed.
