- This couple heard "coyote" cries coming from a canyon, but they quickly realized they weren't coyotes at all. They were two abandoned dogs and they needed help - immediately.

The capacity of the “human being” is incredible. How mean to abandon 2 helpless dogs in a place like this without food and water. Had these angels not appeared, they could have died of thirst, heat, or cold. Thanks for saving them.
The word is WOULD, not could. They WOULD HAVE DIED. ✝️❤️
What the owner took them out there and died, but no one knew the body had been eaten and that could be why the pups were hiding in that cave.
They could have gotten separated from their owner who may have looked for them for days and even weeks without finding them, and maybe eventually assumed they must be dead in such an inhospitable place. It's also possible their owner is deceased somewhere in the canyon, but no one knew he/she went out there so there was no search of the area when they didn't return, and no one has since stumbled across the body. There was also no word in the video of any microchips/registered owner.
But, yeah, if someone actually did just dump the dogs out there that would be absolutely unconscionable :-(
@@wolfc8755 holy moly, that is actually a more believable scenario than someone driving all the way out there to the canyon and climbing all the way to that spot, leave the dogs there, go all the way back.

Yes. Most ordinary people would not have been able to save those dogs. About all they could've done would be to report them to the ranger, who probably would not respond in time to save them. Both dogs were running out of time, but especially the little one.

God works in mysterious ways..... for humans AND his animals. Coincidences don't happen. These pups needed help, He sent the right kind of help. They were losing weight and just beginning to look rough. I don't have any idea how they got there, but I have seen stranger things with dogs. They are pretty resilient. Don't ever underestimate God.

I found this in an article on iheartdogs: "While I know most of us were hoping for the two to find their forever home together, they did end up going to two separate homes. For whatever reason, the pair did not get along once they reached the shelter. They got into some very heated fights, which lead the staff to a conclusion of finding them separate and loving homes."

They had harnesses on, they are already someone’s dogs. I wouldn’t assume abandonment. Might want to check around for a dead climber. Idk, the scenario seems strange to me.

I wouldn't assume that these people are just assuming that either. They were there.
Also, you're pointing out that they had harnesses on, but that was obvious. That's how they knew they had owners previously and weren't strays. If they still had owners that cared, they would have been claimed.
True, the owner could be dead, but no one has come forward about the dogs or any missing persons. A dead hiker seems far less likely than abandonment.
to top all of it off, what if the rescuers were actually doing all of this to get attention and to make a youtube vid? What if they themselves owned those dogs. That seems to me the most likely scenario.

Yes, abandoning is a possibility but I feel like if that was the case they wouldn't have harnesses or that chain collar. Maybe another hiking accident?

@Crystal I think the person might've meant that the dogs got lost during a hike and were never found or some other actually good reason
It looks from the video, that he didn't need ropes until he walked down to the level the dogs were at. So they likey walked/slid down the same way he did, but got stuck and didn't know to go back up - the bigger dog easily walked back along the narrow ledge. Guess easier to repel down, or made for a cooler video on their social media.

@@geraldfillion4904 oh, stop with your silly cynicism! Back in the 70’s, I lived in Hawaii. We were hiking to a secluded canyon, and found a litter of puppies abandoned. They had a bag of food left with them, but it was nearly gone. They had no water, just drinking rainwater from puddles, but we’d had a dry spell, and they were in very bad shape. Our plans for exploring and picnicking flew out the window, and we had to figure how to get 6 squirmy pups out a steep trail (dangerous, but nothing like what this man did) with only 3 of us. This was in the dark ages of no cell phones, so we emptied our picnic food, put 3 pups in the basket, carried one in our only back, and carried the other two in rigged slings made out of our tee shirts. When another living creature is in distress, you go into rescue mode. Well, probably not you, but most people would.
You likely think the guy who patiently cut a shark out of tangled fishing line while another friend filmed on his phone just “did it for views”. Ditto the village that rescued 2 dogs stranded on a flooded island during a torrential rainstorm. Oh, and probably the firemen who risked their own safety to rescue a deer trapped in a fence.
Heroes are all around. The fact we all have phones that do videos on us at all times makes recording amazing feats of heroics a natural occurrence. This “stunt” would have been far too dangerous for both the dogs he rescued and himself. Step off.

yeah, probably caused anxiety, stress on the dogs because they lost their best friends who they have been with for a while. But better than being in a home than in a shelter

Connor Vasquez Dogs are pack animals because they're descended from wolves. Experiences such as this would create a bond between the dogs, and they were clearly bonded because the little one hid beneath the bigger dog before he realized that the rescuer could be trusted. I've got 6 dogs of my own, and my parents are professional dog trainers.
Connor Vasquez you know nothing. They’re extremely social animals just like us and super sensitive to these experiences. They bond easily.
I had first watched this about 2 years ago, and since then, I just can't forget it!
It's one of those very memorable things.
Dodo should find this couple and do an update! Find the rescuers and find where the dogs are now!

The shelter makes sure the dogs aren't chipped. If they are chipped, they'll always call the owners first.

The rescue is wonderful but the situation makes me extremely curious as to how they got in such a predicament.
Since maybe people hike there I assume, somebody probably lost their dogs, the dogs ran away and end up there, or just abandoned.
Yeah, sadly we will never know. But anyone of those is a possibility. It is kind of curious tho that they happened to find them and just film the whole thing, if it were me I wouldn’t be worried about filming the situation just getting the dogs to safety. Who knows I don’t like to judge but it does seem a tad suspicious.

While serving in the Army I had many jobs (mos's) from Airborne/ Recondo. ( 82nd Airborne) to Military Police. While in the MPs I got very good with the 9mm model 92 Barretta.I am 59 and only retired in 2015.. I had a 14 year break in service due to a in the line of duty accident (airborne). During the break were my Dunbar Armoured years. Quit and re enlisted..love animals.. Also worked for a year on a Cashmere goat farm in Dillon MT. Loved it..

This was a God moment. Had couple who stepped out to find noise and found God's creatures needing help. We all needed this in our lives to read and thank them both and their dog for finding them both forever homes. God Bless.

those dogs were smart enough to keep loudly crying when they heard people nearby so they could be rescued as they surely wd have died a slow miserable death on that cliff...

Evil Sharkey I don’t disagree but I do think their owners were negligent on some level.
My dog was an escape artist so she became chipped AND has a tracker on her. I put up a wall that she can’t penetrate, and only let her use the dog door when I’m home. Responsibility extends to our four legged family members.
D. Mills, it’s also possible that their owner is dead at the bottom of a cliff somewhere. They may be runaways or drop offs from different owners. They may have been believe dead after falling off a cliff.
We don’t know how they got there, only that they were in desperate need of rescue when people with the right skills and equipment to do so came along.

D. Mills, Occam’s razor would trim away the unlikely possibility that someone took the effort to put them on the cliff and abandon them.
Even for an evil person who would go through all that trouble to abandon two dogs in a cliff in the middle of nowhere??
My guess is that the dogs accidentally got stuck while the owner was exploring and they couldn't get down so he/she just left them.

I know I was thinking the same, was hoping to hear 4ever home...
I found a comment which explains a lot yet most people have not seen it.
I found this in an article on iheartdogs: "While I know most of us were hoping for the two to find their forever home together, they did end up going to two separate homes. For whatever reason, the pair did not get along once they reached the shelter. They got into some very heated fights, which lead the staff to a conclusion of finding them separate and loving homes."
That guy is so brave, he risked his life to save those dogs. He is a true hero.
he didnt "risk his life". he is an experienced climber and it was easy for him. that is like saying someone who drives a car is "risking his life" haha

Yeah, whoever put them there had to have repelled there themself! I think they should be looking for a body. It’s just very odd.

Maybe they were not abandoned maybe a person went to the cliff than lost his puppies or he had any accident

They might not have been left on that specific niche, but they were left out there somewhere, clearly. If you think that no human male could possibly do this, you haven’t yet learned about the depths of evil that exists in some people. Lucky you. But it’s time to learn now.

It’s also possible that they weren’t abandoned but that the owner died while climbing.

People never cease to amaze me. Whoever left them all alone in place where they couldn't even find somewhere to get a drink are completely Evil. I'm so Glad and they were so lucky people who are tremendously awesome showed up and literally saved their lives. 💜

I watch the Dodo to restore my faith in humans as compassionate, loving and caring beings. To see people helping to undo the damage done by others is a balm for my weathered and sickened spirit and soul.
As someone with parent and other human caused PTSD and anxiety looming near agoraphobia, at times; I need help seeing the good in people.
I wish we could hear about this amazing stories on the news. These type of situations that involve love, humanity and kindness...need to be shown more often....love is contagious. It’ll be good for all of us. Blessings to these wonderful two human beings....

My heroes. Even though this had a super HAPPY/HEARTWARMING ending, I will now be forever haunted as to how they got there in the first place.
My heart and soul is breaking for them …. Just can’t get the horror stories out of my brain as to just how CRUEL people can be towards animals never mind the 2 legged kind. Can’t wrap my head around it.
