The fear this brings is that they will use the cover of "convenience" by forcing parents to buy these pre-packaged meals. In a country that is open, they are an option, not required. I saw a video earlier today that at least in one school, parents were being forced to buy the pre-packaged meals and making those children who didn't buy them sit outside in the rain and they wouldn't allow the parents to bring food in. This would be a way to control the population by controlling the food supply by getting everyone integrated into the pre-packaging culture. At least in the U.S., it's an option to eat prepackaged foods or not. Clearly fresh foods are the way to go.

If you are a culinary student, then you would know that restraunts have two places where "waste" goes. Sewage in one, and oil in the other. So it's not like the oil is full of sewage (atleast unless the sewage is leaking into the oil through the concrete or ground) however obviously reusing oil is bad, especially when you reuse it over and over again, and it is stored in a unsanitized place where it's literally just waste. usually in cities, sewage goes into a sewer, however oil goes into a septic tank that is a bit different than a normal one. However in countryside places, there are two separate septic tanks.

It is, in fact, possible to keep food fresh for a year, just look at apples. Most of the apples you eat at the grocery are around that age. The thing is that you have to keep ethylene production low, which involves fine temperature control and atmosphere regulation. Many MREs last for about 3 years, the preservatives aren't even the issue, since many of the ones used are used all over the world. The real issue is in quality control, no amount of preservatives will stop a botulism outbreak if the production plant is beyond dirty. The other issue is the MASSIVE amount of plastic that is being used to package these products, most of which, thanks to the CCP's lax regulations, will definitely leak phalates into the food, which will lead into a spike in cancer cases. This is looking more like a push by the CCP to control food availability. Control the food, and you control the people. Until they get tired and revolt, of course.

This is a huge lesson for us here in the US. We are heading towards that mentality. Watch your kids school lunches while it's not gonna kill you everything is processed and full of sugar (especially in struggling areas). Most of the schools budget it's probably 1.50 per meal, I think parents need to ask schools to do better and have food contracts change hands every year. So, about the foor prices. My lunch order would cost me 2-2.5 usd 2 years ago. It is 3.5-5 now. If i buy ingredients and cook, it is 2 usd for one meal. Pre made meals I mentioned before are 2.5-3 usd, which is the middle ground. However, there is no control of the quality and truth to the ad picture like Japan has, so you possibly could get a meal from 100% corn statch.

What's the point of having a government if it can't guarantee basic food safety? That, sensible road laws, and basic environmental protections are the bare minimum of what citizens should be able to expect from their country. So many poor people are hurt every day from the greedy negligence of the CCP, it's criminal. Thank you for your work and stay safe!

❓ if the Chinese public is aware of the food-safety issues and high amounts of preservatives why aren't other companies springing up advertising that they don't use preservatives and they have food taste testers from the factory taste and inspect every batch. If this was happening in America the government wouldn't even have a chance to step in because they would immediately go out of business. No one would buy from them all of their investors and board members were pull out. The company would literally go belly-up overnight. Especially for something this egregious. Is the Chinese government preventing these companies from going bankrupt by preventing new companies from springing up? Or by limiting who can advertise what? There has to be something like that going on right?

Hmmm... in north korea, the government must have said something like" hey, peasants, sorry, dear citizens, please, trust us and give us your lands... your properties... your businesses.. your this and that... and we will take care of everything : you won't have to worry about food , money, a roof, work, etc etc. We will provide absolutely everything you need, you're gonna feel like you're in heaven, next to our dear defunct leaders. Your life will be so fantastic, all the countries will envy us"
    *a few years later*
People had to fight over some worms in a tree bark...
These pre-prep bags remind me of some european countries, in the 70s.. ruled by communists.... where food was scarce and rationed... people had some kind of a notepad... and would get one stamp everytime they would receive some bread... some milk... sugar..floor... and could only get a limited amount per month.
Looks like the CCP started thinking that the chinese people have way too much freedom: they can work and have money... can buy what they want... can drive and go anywhere they want... can have fun when they want... can choose which electronic devices they want...can do a ton of things.... and they can even choose which food they want to buy and eat.
Too much freedom ! It's time to 'tighten the belt' , or 'shorten the leash'....
1.5 billion people: suddenly, everybody started throwing away their bike, and started buying a car. Suddenly, everybody started buying electric bikes.
What if suddenly, there was a new trend, where people would all start eating... tons of cow beef.... or italian pasta and pizzas... or any other food...
    1.5 billion people, that's a lot.
So i guess the cpp wants people to start consuming those prep meals.... so the ccp can control EXACTLY what people are going to eat. Schools, at home, at work, it doesn't matter. All that matters is... total control.
"Ohhh, suddenly, 400 million chinese started eating pizzas and spagetti and pasta. The country now needs to import bilions of tons of cheese... pasta.... tomatoes.... instead of people consuming rice... ducks... etc.
And of course, it's a great way for some people to make billions and billions.
Fun fact, after the vietnam war, americans were so happy, so relieved, and only cared about having fun : literally sex and more sex, drugs, music... more drugs.. and much more sex. By that time, the 'disco' style had exploded... and people were partying ALL the time.
People had too much freedom. Didn't want to work, and wanted to party.
And what did the government do ? They started forbidding some types of big venues, where people would gather and have fun. No more infinite freedom !

I'm not arguing that loads of preservatives aren't used. But it occurred to me that some products may be canned. Then they would last a long time even without preservatives. Home-cooked meat with vegetables will last for years and taste great.

Its possible to make large-batch, long-term storage pre-prepared foods. For example, the US DoD/DLA Unitized Group Ration, which has to last at minimum 18 months in normal conditions (not counting the A option UGRs, those expire in a few months) and are used widely in field kitchens to feed large amounts of troops. The big difference is they're not (likely) gonna give you every cancer under the sun, and are prepared in actual food-safe conditions. They're also typically packaged in much more durable packaging, which you need in order to prevent spoilage.
UGRs, like MREs, do end up being seen outside of just the military, for example in wildland firefighting operations where agencies can order supplies from the defense logistics agency.
In summary, long-term, shelf (or freezer) stable foods have to be manufactured in a specific manner in order to not poison everyone involved, be it from the food going bad, the preservatives themselves, or from bad food preparation practices that taint the food from the beginning. To do it right, it will never be cheaper than just making people regular ol' food.
