Hi Kings, well you got Tori’s name. Mine and Burt’s, needs work. Just call me Joe 🤣. Tori says “Back-Ah-Rack” perfectly. Burt and Hal were the song writing team of the 20th century, and the beginning of the 21st. A worthy Google. The songs were some of their big hits from the 1960’s. Dionne Warwick did a good number of them. Burt wrote the Carpenter first #1 smash hit, Close To You. Richard’s arrangement was what made the song a hit on the 4th attempt by singers. Burt asked Richard to make a Medley from some of their hits. This was what he came up with. That Carpenters clip in the middle was from the first time it was played live on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1970, by Carpenters. It was on their 3rd album “Carpenters” in 1971.
Tori took a Karaoke track that Richard Carpenter created for the Japanese market. It had backing vocals already on it. Tori REMOVED all the vocals. She added herself as all the backing vocals. She created the right side of the screen, as her song last October. Jim was shown the video by RUclips in February and loved what he saw. He felt it needed “more Richard” and created his side. He showed Tori what he did. She loved it and he released it. He then asked her if she’s like to help him complete his We’ve Only Just Begun project. (His lead singer had suddenly passed away) She was honored and that video you saw previously. Their next project currently in the works is Close To You.
I think that comparison video you spoke of was from Eduard2004. He made three. Two different versions of WOJB and this Medley. So go back and watch his take on this, but it’s Tori’s original before Jim. BTW in Tori’s original, she sang Richard’s parts. You can hear her low voice in the harmonies AND Walk On By is a DUET. Watch again as she looks right into the camera and does Richard/harmony/Karen (repeat). Once you see what she did you can’t unsee it. It goes by so fast you don’t realize it. It took me some time.
As a bonus, for you, not a reaction. About 3 years ago young Tori recorded herself laying down the harmonies for WOJB. Her FIRST effort at harmonies. Kinda historic if she has the career she should. A bonus bonus, in this video she gives a shout out to author Chris May. In late 2023 Chris produced her cover of the Ray Charles classic, Georgia On My Mind (3 years later!). Oh who did Chris write that book with? Connections.

I see you meant the Wings of Pegasus episode, there are two episodes, if you didn’t see the first one. This was the second. When he refers to a Patreon member suggested WOJB, that was me. When I figured out he took my suggestion and was doing the first episode 🤯
