This is great! I love that you teach a topic deeply with mastery. That is the blessing of teaching at home. Blessings friend!!
Yes I really love that we have the flexibility to go deep
My kids would love this! We actually haven’t done a full space study yet. We’ve just touched on it a few times.
Oh yes I bet they would love it.
Yay!! A Mars community!! My kids didn’t want to do a commercial for earth. They preferred the sonar activity and the volcanos, storms and craters.
Yeah my kids were not sure about the ad for earth until I told them they could do a video commercial or any ad form they wanted and then they were all over it.
My kids love reading the Apologia Exploring Creation science books! They make great spines for our science adventures and explorations.
Yes they are so good for that.
Hi Katie! Thank you for all your homeschooling tips and godly advice. Yes, I would like a more in-depth video of apology astronomy.
Great thank you I will add that to my list of videos to make.
We have enjoyed using apologia as well!
Yes it is so good for large families
I used Apologia years ago before my kids were old enough for all the info.....im thinking about trying it again! It was nice to see all the extra options!
Yes they really have added so many neat things over the years.
A comparison of the journal levels would be great. I have often wondered just how different they would be.
Okay I will defenitly get that video out soon.
We absolutely love apologia!
It is so good!
I didn’t know about the extra resources on their website!!! I wish I would have, we would have loved that 😃
Yes it is one of the best kept secrets of Apologia
I did but haven't used it because life (a HUGE move!) happens, our computer is on its last leg, AND we need a new printer. Sigh. The hits keep coming but we keep trucking!
We used Apologia Astronomy last year and we loved it. The kids were in Kindergarten and 5th grade. We only used the Text book.
That is awesome. I didn't know until this year that MFW uses apologia, I think that is really neat.
We love using Apologia for science the astronomy material looks awesome.
Yes, they always do such a great job.
We loved Apologia Astronomy! 🪐
It is so fun
It's interesting that the Space topic is one of their easier levels, because it always seems like a tough science topic to me! Space is so far away!
That is so true but they make it so accessible
This is great and so timely. We are getting ready to do space when we finish with Inventions. I really appreciate the information you provided. Thank you!
That’s exciting, space is such a fun thing to study!
Thank you so much!! I just found your channel last night and I have watched quite a few videos now! Haha
Your videos are ALL fantastic- and this one was incredibly helpful!!!
I’m so glad you have found them helpful
My kids would absolutely LOVE making a Mars community
Yes that was so much fun.
mine too!
We have gotten the notebook journal for the elementary Apologia units, and there's a LOT in there. I need to look at it a little closer...my mom always teaches science under our usual division of classes so it's actually been a long time since I've used Apologia!
Yeah there is so much included.
We loved Apologia Astronomy! We used the older version with the black cover.
Yes we have the older version as well. I found the content to be pretty much the same just better laid out and of course space facts got updated but there both awesome
1st time homeschooling. I haven't made a definite decision if we will continue yet,but if we do I would like more curricula that I teach my kids at the same time. Currently 3rd grade, kindergarten, and 2.5 year old. I need to check this out.
Yes I totally get that. That’s why I love apologia because we can do it all together and that’s exactly what my sanity needs.
What has been you and your kids favorite Apologia Science unit? This will be our first time using and thinking of using Earth Science. But they all look so good! I have 2 boys, age 8 and 10
My kids favorites so far have been chemistry & physics although that one I would suggest waiting a year or so on bc it’s a little more advanced.
But they also really loved Botany too. We are doing Earth science next year and I am so excited to start it. I think that one would be great for a first book to use bc you get to touch on so many topics.
@@LifeintheMundane I think that is the one we will stick with then! Thank you so much! I am so thankful I came across your RUclips channel! :)
@@dimockfamily04 Happy to help any way that I can
Would love a deeper dive look at the books! Thank you
Will do!
Awesome, We love apologia! we are in our 3rd year!
That’s awesome.
Great review! What an in-depth curriculum. We will be check it out for next year
Glad you enjoyed it.
You want to turn on the captions too.
Thanks so much for this review! Looks like you guys are having a lot of fun with it!! :)
Yes we are. Thanks for watching.
We’ve been loving Astronomy this year!
That’s awesome. This is year has been a good year for studying astronomy with the Mars landing and such
I love the hands on activities
I’m learning to really love them. I’m more of a project girl then a science experiment but my kids love all the hands on stuff
My kids really wanted to do the Mars community but we ran out of time. Looks fun!
I would have never gotten around to doing it had it not been for our co-op but I’m glad we did bc they loved it.
Looking more into this his company especially with how well they blend with MFW
Yes I love how those two work hand in hand
Wait, what is MFW?
My Fathers World
We loved our astronomy year! We used TGATB though.
That is awesome.
Great information! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
I would love a flip through of the two journal books!
I would love to do that but we actually used the book already and I only keep a sample and then pitch the rest so I don’t have it anymore.
“......Not when they dabble in ten...”👏🏽
❤️
I really appreciate this video! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
Yes Would like to see the junior notebook please
Will do! I’m working on filming that soon.
Our book covers look different. 🤔 we’ve had so much fun with this this year
Yeah it’s been a blast so far
Thanks! This was so helpful!!
Glad it was helpful!
How did I not know they had resources online!
I know it is the best kept secret of apologia
Such a great video, thank-you!! :)
(I might have missed this, but do they have any assessments?) Thank-you! :)
In the young explorers series there are no tests or formal assessments. They do give questions for review through out the chapters that you could easy turn into test questions if you wanted too.
@@LifeintheMundane good to know! Thanks so much for the response!! :)
My son is obsessed with space.
Mine too. There is something so fun about outer space for boys.
🎉
😎
I’d like to know- does Apologia teach from new earth or old earth perspective?
It is not explicitly focused on but it is from a New Earth perspective.
Do you know, if you buy the book used, can you still use the website code?
Yes you can
Did you use the Astronomy for the entire year or just a semester?
Entire year
Is this book meant to be stretched throughout an entire school year or a semester? Also, is it set up to be worked in 5 days per week, or only 3 days per week?
It is set up to be read 2-3 times a week and suggested schedule is doing 1 chapter every 2 weeks so with that schedule it will last a whole year.
What she said 👆👆👆 However, you can go as fast or slow as you'd like 😊
What do you call/where can you find the manipulative in your intro with the sticks and cards?

😀
Does this curriculum give any information on black holes?
Yes it does
🎀
😜
Do you know what the differences are of the editions?
I am waiting on confirmation from Apologia but I believe the major differences are layout and updated facts about more recent space discoveries.

Haha I did a double take bc at first glance I thought this was an emoji of a ham lol 😂
