My guess, and only a guess, is that the trailer brakes weren’t working properly. Maybe out of adjustment, or worn. If he touched his brakes, the trailer would just keep going.
The air brakes on these newer trucks have computer controlled ABS systems. It's not uncommon for one axle to just lock up for no reason. Happened at a place I used to work a lot. The electronics the government mandates on these rigs aren't up to the heavy duty usage.
These trucks have all the anti-collision shit that the newer cars & SUV's have. Lane deviation & distance radar included. When the lane deviations goes off in my semi, it sounds somewhat like a F-16 that just got a lock on for an inbound missile. Driver probably panicked over nothing & slammed on the brakes. It is tough driving with all this shit in city rush hour traffic. No way to turn it off.
Good to see you still have Police attend to accidents here in the UK they don’t turn out unless it’s serious we have the yellow lollipop brigade on our motorways who have no powers our days here in the UK of seeing a police officer is non existent unless your in a major town.
he is not completely jackknifed. it is a easy correct. just cut the wheels at a hard right and pull the traitor back in line. I have had mine that far many times backing into tight spots. looked like his right brake locked up on his steer axle.
See that's why people need to slow down what they doing and pay attention truck driver he not paying no attention at all or the driver of that car call home both of these people is okay❤❤❤😊😊😊
the person in the car saw dollar signs in there eyes with such a light tap from the truck.
How?...like seriously? He was going like 10 mph....smh
Yeah am thinking the same
Now that's a good question how did jackknifed like that at very low speed

Why was the ambulance called. I can't imagine that anyone was hurt, but you can't tell from the camera position

Could have been a passenger injured in the car... other than that, in some states, dialing 911 alone brings the whole calvary...

Beautiful insurance claim
Odd sort of and accident not much speed involved
Sign down there says, “ Please Move All Accidents To The Shoulder Of The Road” 😮

I'm surprised the truck was even able to move after that. Usually it takes a heavy duty tow truck to straighten a truck out after a jackknife.

i drove a truck for 30 years and have no idea how or why he did this... maybe the trucks steer tire suddenly locked up ??🤪
What's the camera doing
Thats not a jacknife. Ive seen bad jacknife on ice tractor side to side with the trailer. But this right here probably rain slippery conditions.
