- The CDC flagged stunning surges in multiple debilitating stomach bugs, namely norovirus. The rate of tests coming back positive has nearly doubled since January. NBC News’ Maggie Vespa has more details on the ultra-contagious virus clobbering kids and adults.

i had this in 2018 and it's soooooooo bad... but when it was finally over i felt so cleansed tbh
The worst. I had it one year and I threw up all day for 24 -48 hours and it was over
I know this is gonna be weird question but does norovirus have different symptoms? Like can a person also have diarrhea instead of vomiting? Or most likely a combination of both?
@tacosdecabeza2212 the first time we all ever had it at home, it was a combo of both. The second time was mainly diarrhea. I guess it just depends.
@@tacosdecabeza you feel really hot and thirsty but when you try to chug water you'll just throw it up... I find it's best to take ondonestran and take small but continuous sips of water. Thankfully I haven't had it since I was a kid. My brother would always spread to me because he was filthy and would wash his hands, like EVER.
@@tacosdecabeza it's also best not to eat anything at all because you'll just throw it up, simply just drink water and it should go away after a day or 2
@@tacosdecabeza It's like the flu coming out both ends for a day or two and then out of nowhere your all better. That's how it was for me.
I do not know about all of you, but, I'm getting sick of crazy viruses popping up.
How do you stay hydrated when you can’t keep anything down
When you reach the point you're vomiting hot foam after every sip of water, you need too go to the hospital and get on IV to rehydrate your body.
(This was my experience with beinf unable to hold down any food or water for nearly 3 days, just from influenza)
1 tbsp pedialyte every 10 minutes to start. No water. Just pedialyte. Even if you're vomiting. As vomiting decreases, drink it less frequently. It really helps and is brutal to get through

i legitimately found out by waking up surrounded by over an inch of puke from my neck to my thighs.
still not entirely sure how i didn't wake up or choke doing that...

That's why I don't eat out. You don't know if people preparing or cooking your food or touching your plate has washed their hands or if they are sick. I prefer to eat at home and prepare my own meals. I know its clean and safe. I have seen people not washing their hands CORRECTLY 🤢
honestly... besides that, with just a bit of practice almost anyone can make food as good as most chefs.

I've worked lots of places where the people prepping food at plants. (like bagged fruits and veg) never wash properly, wander around hacking a lung up. 🤢
Yes! Even just watching the workers you can see their filthy ways! They use the gloves to clean then come and prep ur food with the same gloves and more times than not they actually get mad if u ask them to change their gloves! That plus the ppl in the the bathroom but only run water over their hands before cooking . It’s just too much
Exactly, and it doesn't seem they are watched or reported.
I worked in restaurants and hands are never washed, gloves rarely used, dishes half way clean.
I had all these symptoms back in December 2020 and I was told it was colitis, then I was told another sickness and finally they said I had chrons disease. Told me to do this injection in my stomach twice a month but I refused cuz of the side effects being so deadly. I moved across the country and had a 2nd colonoscopy and I've been chrons disease free since October 2021. I pray that everyone dealing with these issues can fully recover. God Bless you all. 🙏🏻

Imagine have food poisoning, but it lasts for a whole year+. That's what chrons disease, IBD and IBS is.

I’m just barley over getting sick with one of the worst bouts of stomach flu I’ve ever had..at times the pain has been more intense and excruciating than when my appendix almost burst. (Sometime vomiting from the insane, dizzying, cramping pain alone) This is no joke & people should take real caution against contracting this nasty little bug.

I remember one day last yr I had just finished eating and not soon after that I had this curl up in a ball cramping in my stomach I didn't vomit but I was on the toilet all day for 3 days straight I thought it was something I ate but when I went to the store to get something to coat my stomach this lady said it's a stomach virus going around maybe it was one of those I don't know
Day 7 of it got unlucky and I'm missing out on a friend's birthday.....
I can't afford to call in but I've been sick and I had to. I'm not gonna risk getting others sick especially since I'm a server. Also most of my co workers were sick and still came in. That's how I got it.
It is sad because they meed their job too, but those co workers need to be let go ASAP. Anyone who works in the food industry and picks their hours over FDA regulations has no right to be working with food.
Been like this since Sunday last week also have eusophgotis on top of it. I’ve been to hospital but they couldn’t do much.
Hopefully they gave you anti nausea medicine. They did it for me and helped actually a bit. Stopped throwing up basically lol
Wash your fruits and veggies. Get into them vitamins. It is a serious issue the quality of food and water we been getting at grocery stores and stuff.

My zofran is on standby. I got yhe norovirus over a decade ago and i then was sick for years with postviral syndrome

We always have Zofran on standby for us and our toddler. It is a game changer. Just don't take it too often
Zofran is a saver. It stopped me from throwing up completely. Gave me bad constipation though.

I have caught covid 4 times and i’ve already caught the Norovirus twice. I have every symptom except vomiting. I am the only one among my family members with it. Maybe it is because I am dehydrated.

That’s why wherever I go, I’m wearing a mask and I don’t care what anyone says. One guy got so mad at me and asked me to take my mask off bc he’s tired of people covering their faces, and I responded, “That sounds like a personal problem and it has nothing to do with me. I don’t know you at all and no, I’m not taking my mask off for you.” Like, go away you peasant! I noticed that some people who don’t wear masks can be very sickening to the people who wear them, like, who are you??? Let people do what they want. If you want to keep getting sick, that’s on you, but I’m going to keep doing what I need to do to be safe for MYSELF AND MY FAMILY.

A mask doesn’t stop a stomach virus from infecting you. Stomach viruses for the most part are not airborne. You get them from eating/drinking contaminated food or water and you also get it from touching your face with your contaminated hands.
