    The Statement of Megan Young
    >>Last night during the final, I fixed Lesego Chombo's (Miss Botswana) hair on stage. I
wanted to offer a helping hand but I failed to oversee the bigger picture. This coud have
caused distress during that moment and I have
been made aware that culturally, this is unacceptable.
We have spoken privately last night at the hotel
and I have apologized to Lesego in private.
To those who witnessed the incident, I also
want to apologize for any discomfort or confusion my actions may have caused. It was
a thoughtless and disrespectful act, and I take full responsibility for it.
I assure you that it was not my intention to invade personal space or make anyone feel uncomfortable. I deeply regret my actions and will strive to be more mindful and respectful in
    the future.

People just have to accept that we live in a world that’s bigger than our own culture. There will always be differences in norms and practices between cultures. You cannot impose your own perspective to an outside world; instead of displaying worldliness and education, its shows ignorance and narrow-mindedness. In cross-cultural interactions like this, It is more important to look at intentions.

Just because of an innocent act, netizens are bashing Megan Young? That's just ridiculous! Botswana's loss to Czech Republic has nothing to do with Megan. The lady meant no harm!

Meghan was fixing the unruly strand of Miss Botswana's wig, she showed her gesture of kindness. Blame the judges not Meghan.

Honestly Botswana nailed it, however the delivery and the tone of her voice somehow affects , and emphasizing much about "I", audience would feel empower and lifted if she uses "We" which is more inclusive. She is my no. 1 along with England, Czech, Lebanon.

    THE STATEMENT OF LESEGO CHOMBO
    >>Batho bame, I appreciate that you are all looking out for me, but it really doesn’t make me feel good when you bring other people down in my name or for my sake. Please be kinder, please ❤️ to Krystyna, to Megan, be kinder.

Megan is not the judge who will win Miss world. Her action means She likes and cares Miss Botswana.. Remember Catriona Gray did not make it as Miss World..

It was just a very brief act of kindness to fix her hair, and mind you it is natural to us Filipinos to be helpfull, that we care and what Megan din was out of that, just that. So it’s not fair for Ms. Botswana’s people to call her witch and blame her for not winning. Megan’s not one of the judges? It’s like they are making this as an excuse that they didn’t win, and you don’t want that to be remembered by people that just cause she fixed your hair you don’t win cause that’s very far from it as she has no control over it cause she’s just a host at the event.

Czech Republic is eye candy to Julia Morley eyes.. Botswana deserves her spot tho.
Stop making stories that Megan put badluck to Botswana.
Megan just wants her to be presentable for this QA.
Her speech is close to. Idea
Of Catriona torch and candle to light illuminate the lives of the many.
Julia is not convinced for too much flowery speech

Filipinos are claiming it's okay for Megan to touch Miss Botswana's hair. I noticed in this video that Megan didn't ask for Miss Bostwana'as permission to fix her hair. I wouldn't want a stranger to fix my hair especially in front of thousands in the audience. This might have thrown off her focus also. I've never seen anything like this in all the years I've watched pageants. Megan has done this before in a Philippine pageant without asking if she could fix the candidate's hair. She's not her hairstylist.

To say “Fix her hair” would suggest there was something WRONG with it and there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with her hair. It was inappropriate further more it was not her place to make any adjustments and changes to any of the girls, that’s how she chose to appear on stage and that’s how she wanted to look. That was a malicious act she tried to disguise.

Ms megan fix the messy strand on the forehead of the candidate with pure intention. She is fiipina. Fiipina is known for kindhearted affectionate hospitable person. There would never be intention of removing her wig to embarrass the contestant. Megan is filipina. No histroy saying that Filipinos slave or bully the bostawana.

Meghan has no issue even to her previous years as a host of Miss World. She has no issue as well in the philippines and to her career. This is purely unintentional and as a host from a friendly country, we help and boost the confidence of other people rather than bragging down.
